Next day we were of to checkout laem sing and chaolay beach but first a quick stop at the waterfall where i delighted the somchais at the national park by having to pay triple to get in . Bastards

The good thing about this place is if ones a bit tubby and prone to sloth you can hire a golfbuggy and get driven to it. No argument from me

Its also chock full of tame fish

Heres a couple of beaches near chantaburi. Nothing flash but it gets the job done in the local style.
This is laem sing beach on the way to chao lay

There was no koont there on a weekday and the vendors were all over my ass, they do a bloody good seafood papaya salad though

The kids got busy with there sand casle making while i took a little snooze

Not the best beach ive ever been to but quite relaxing

i had booked a bungaloh on agoda on what i thought was the main beach (chaolay) but turned out to be about 10 klicks from here on a really shitty stretch of coastline. that will teach me to do the homework eh.

whers da bloody water ya fookers?

Anyway the bungalow turned out to be pretty comfy and the resort had a decent pool so kids were happy enough and i found the outlet for cold Leo beer. sorted

oh yeah i might add it was full on durian season and if the smell of durian offends you your in the wrong part of Thailand . love the fuckers personally

Anyway it wasnt all doom and gloom . another 20 or so kms down the road found us at a well pleasant spot called Kung Wiman beach. back in a minute gotta nip downstairs to grab a beer

heading towards kung wiman we were treated to views of the fishing fleet near a bridge on a picturesque inlet

crossing the bridge brings you to rural road CB 6001 and hugs the coast.

kung wiman while being the most undeveloped beach we saw turned out to be the nicest and i was pissed of we didnt stay a night there by accident

Anyway after that it was of to check out ko kut for 2 nights.

waiting for the ferry and still bloody raining. you can park the car near the pier for a small fee

The ferrrys at the end of that pier but they take you out there by songthaew.

Theres a couple of different ferry options but we went with boonsiri ferry

Takes about an hour and a half and your songthaew to your bungalow there and backs included

Just saw this thread now. Thnx for the pix, BLD. Always lovely to see your family & travels.

On a side note: your Mrs looks like she lost weight - if she's on a diet program, then it's working. My compliments. (btw, if you found that offensive, then my apologies & no need to tell the Mrs) However, in my experience, my girlfriends usually like it when somebody notices that they've lost weight.

555 yes she has lost a lot of weight. She has the fitness bug real bad. Goes jogging in the morning. Rides her bike about 40kms a day . Swims for an hour or 2 . She has being doing this for about 6 months. I will tell her you said that. She will be chuffed. On the other side of the coin there's a bit of pressure on my good self to get of my ass and do some exercise. Which I have been doing

Some say that ko kood may well be Thailands best kept secret. For me it was a little underdeveloped. but i was also there in the rainy season so that detracted a bit from the experience, Theres no denying there are some great beaches though

we stayed at the very quiet Au prau resort which shares a beach with only 2 other resorts

The resort is set in very nicely maintained grounds and the cabin we had was basic but comfortable

The kayaks belong to the resort and are complimentary for guests

Mrs Fitness thought she would have a crack

while i went for a Massage

The first day there we just hung out at the resort and ate and drank there, Next day we got some scooters to go check out the island

All sorts of accomadation budgets were available

Not sure whats so boutique about this one

Despite the rocks still quite a nice beach

This place was called cham house or cham beach, looked great but was totally deserted

Unlike other islands in Thailand this one doesnt have a lot of restaurants or the usual minimarts, Tattooists etc . Looks like people just eat sleep and drink at the resort they stay or go to another resort for dinner.
