    Nakhon Phanom houses for sale

Looking at buying a house in the Nakhon Phanom area but would like to know what's available.

Any tips on how to find out what houses are for sale , Thai people tend not to advertise or hire a company to promote and often its a sign on a gate.

Due to the current situation, Its not possible to get into Thailand but planning on coming over towards the end of the year.

Even new builds are hard to find unless your looking on google earth.

    Any tips would be great

Surely you must have some sort of connection to people living there, ask them, they'll know.

They'll also be able to find you a place, while negotiating up the price for a 10% cut of the inflated sale price.

    Family would be one route.

Facebook would be another. The gf is always showing me pictures of houses for sale, all bigger than mine.

I lived in That Phanom for a while then moved to Nakhon Phanom city, then moved on about 3 years back. I liked living in both places. When the government said they would prioritise Nakhon Phanom for a new railway the land prices in the city soared.

There's just no substitute for boots on the ground in Thailand.

Did members of the government happen to own land in the city by any chance?

Thank you for your reply, I am married to a Thai Lady and we have lived in the UK together for the last 12 years, We do have family in Yasothon but they have no idea on Nakhon Phanom. We do have a close family member who works in a bank who we trust to help us out.
Regards "There's just no substitute for boots on the ground in Thailand" , I believe that this is the only way to find a house in Nakhon Phanom, But we would like a few houses lined up to view for when we are able to come over to thailand which would save time , At the moment, Its just looking at Google earth street views which will be out of date.
There are a couple housing estates that seemed to have gone bust, one with padlocks on the gate, So not sure whats happening their, Another seems to have a new road going through a housing estate.

I have signed up to a couple of facebook siites , But i am wary on people out to try and make a few pounds out of me, Just need to be careful.
Nakhon Phanom looks really nice and relaxed compared to some of the places that i have been to is isaan .

    Thank you for your input

If you're not there then the FB sites would be a good start and Google search from there. Even on the outskirts of BKK we found just driving around was the best option

Just Google Nakhon Phanom property for sale, seem to be a reasonable selection of brokers. Just looking at one particular site, seems to be predominantly land for sale, though a few houses also. Another option is banks, as they keep a register of their re-possessed property for sale.

^^ you haven't really explained the "Why NP", i mention that as the age old adage try before you buy tends to apply in Thailand. Pop over rent somewhere for a while and get a feeling for the place, you'll also have time to explore buy options at your leisure. Its not like you'll miss the once in a lifetime chance etc, there always places to buy.

If you're looking to live in a gated community (moo baan), go to the area where you want to live in google maps and copy/paste this...หมู่บ้าน...into your search.

You might get a couple of hits. Copy and paste the hits into google and it should take you to the moo baan website, FB page, estate agent, reviews, etc.

Obviously, you can do this with condos too.
    Black diamonds? I shit 'em.

    Especially in Thailand.

The first rainy season flood and you could be snorkling in the living room.

Regards "you haven't really explained the "Why NP",
I am 60 this year and even though i have been retired since 53 years old, My wife had carried on working, But the plan is to buy a house in NP, We have thought about Khon Kaen but its to spread out, NP seems to have everything close to the center and its got the Prom and cycle routes along the river.
All going well we will stay somewhere in NP for a month to get the feel of it, But what i see on Youtube, Its a very relaxing place and a idea hub if you want to go travelling with a airport and bus routes to over into Vietnam and places

Put in place years ago, all posts in the buy/sell section of Teakdoor are subject to moderator approval (not just yours). this is to avoid the that the rest of TD is renowned for.
