I just joined Teak Door today. I am new to this whole forum thing, so please bear with this old man.
I am a 56 year old American who has lived in Phrae for three years now. I tell everyone I have a Love/Hate relationship with Thailand; however, when compared with the USA, I love more about Thailand than I do about the USA.
That said, I purchased a stunning German Chalet style house in the heart of the Phrae mountains two years ago. We fully rebuilt the place with new farang friendly, grounded electric, toilets, doors you can actually walk through, screens and security bars. The final product is 5 bedroom, 5 bathroom, with commercial kitchen and working fireplace, to name just a few.
We also had planned to open a mountain Thai-style resort, so we built 6 Thai-style bamboo with grass roof guest houses. Each house has 1 bedroom, 1 Thai-style bath, balcony, running water, and electric. We also built 3 Salas for seating of 30, fenced the entire property, and had extensive brick walkways and landscaping installed.
On the farm end, we have 4 Rai with 600, fully irrigated, Holland Papaya Trees. Still babies, and will come to peak production in Oct or Nov. At peak production they will yield over 5,000 kg of Papayas each month. We previously had 300 Papaya trees which we replaced with these; therefore, we already have local, no-questions asked cash buyers.
This property is great for anyone who wants to live in the mountains, in a completely safe and small local village, and make a great hands-free income every month without the BS of work permits etc. Locals work for 180 Baht day women and 200 day men.
House is for sale for much less than we have invested; however, I need to move into downtown Phrae, as I have a business there which takes all my time.
Sale price is 6.5 mil Baht, or $215,000 (USD).
Please give it a look, and just as important please share your advice and experience on how best to market and sell this place.
Website is: nakham.com and if that does not work just use link in my profile.
Thanks in advance for your time, consideration, and advice.
