    Booking Hotels Online

    hi all
i just come back from another trip to thailand and i cant wait to come back.
i was guest at omni tower bangkok that was really nice, i talk with some ppl at the pool and they say they find that hotel 700 baht cheaper then what i pay in agoda!!!, i ask them where and they say online, i think the site is worth a check.

I am always looking for a better booking service than agoda, but rooms-thailand does not appear to be it. I tried it with 2 hotels that I've recently stayed at; The Dusit Thani and the Baiyoke Sky and they were both considerably higher than Agoda. Thanks for posting this anyway, maybe someone else might have better luck with different hotels.

There are a couple small offices in the basement of the Omni that rent out condos for the individual owners, and their rates are always much lower than what you can find online.

as to other places i compare Agoda ( which has good prices but i hate having to click thru to the end to find the final price) hotel travel, asiarooms and accomline. Prices vary as much as 20%

I use Orbitz and a couple of other web sites. One thing to be aware of (I found out the hard way), is that if you book a hotel for your first day's arrival when flying in from another country, make sure your deposit is refundable if a flight delay causes you to not be able to make it to the hotel.

I lost about $250.00 USD a couple of years ago, when my flight arrived 12 hours late. I had book a room at the hotel that connects with the international airport.

I tried to negotiate the desposit for a different night's stay, but the hotel would have none of it. I will never book a room with them again.

Many hotels that use Agoda also have that u pay when at the hotel,
I have found that by checking the price at Agoda an then going direct to the hotlel u can swing the same rate as the hotel needs pay 10-12% commissions to the hotel.

I worked as Agoda's affiliate manager back when it was Planet holiday so ....

One thing u can do if u have a website is sign up as an affiliate of Hotel travel, agoda, priceline, asiahotels etc an then u will get min 5% back in commissions as u are allowed to make commissions on ur own bookings.

I don't believe that's how Agoda works (at least not anymore)- you pay in full with them and are issued a voucher.

You can try Booking.com- they take your cc info and forward it to the hotel to confirm your reservation, but there are no advance charges (you'll still be subject to any cancellation policy, of course)- you pay when you check out.
