    Reward!

For five years loyal service, I decided that it was time to reward my girlfriend for her dediction, cooking and services provided over this period.
I know I am spoiling her, but hey, I'm just that sort of chap
I thougt a holiday would be welcomed, never having taken her anywhere, where would you like to go? I asked, for some reason I was expecting her to say London or Paris, which would have been fine.
After great deliberation her mind was made up!
Chang Mai was her choice which kind of surprised me, she is from less than a hundred miles away, but has never been there
I have been there, some twenty years ago! sure little has changed
Going to drive up next week, & do CM, is there a previous thread on this that I can't find, just need ideas what must be done, hotel and any other advice any one would care to give, would like to get a few rounds of golf in if anybody is up for a game, or point me to a welcoming course.
    Cheers

That place looks lovely and the website is very good.

I think I would be only staying one or two nights at those prices

    Try this one then

Mandarin Oriental Dhara Dhevei, Chiang Mai - Thailand luxury hotel resort

I thought it was reasonable prices until I noticed they were talking USD not Baht

    I mean 6000USD a night is a bit steep isn't it ?

Don't book this place through the web site. You can sometimes get at least half price through one of the many hotel booking companies

Dont forget they have the flower festival up there, and a lot of the hotels are fully booked out on the weekends.

How about the Sheraton? Something to consider, a very nice hotel, not too expensive, and a good location, near the city but not in it.
As far as things to do while you are here, doi inthanon is a good one, I have heard that monkey camp place is entertaining (my friend got a picture of a monkey sucking his own willy). The wood carving village is cool but I have no idea where a place that sells plastic would be. Of ourse there are many more things surrounding chiang mai that are fun for the whole family.

    Golf Courses

Chiang Mai Lumphun golf course, excellent

Royal Chiang Mai, excellent but about 45 minutes drive

or have a knock at the Gymkhana Club, 9 hole course in the middle of town.
