For A.C. expats...where do you live? house,condo or apt?

Hi guys. I'll be moving to A.C. in a few years and that I'll be seeking a nice comfortable apt or condo to rent. Living in a house with a pool is not out of question either but I don't think I'll be needing anything big. I do not ride!! motorcycle. I absolutely am fearfull of anything on 2 wheels. So the place must be fairly close to fields. I also have a limited budget. Don't won't to pay more than I need to. On a fixed pension.I do not have a huge family ...just me and a gal. Most of all....want to be safe. I've spent last 2 years there....3 months at the time and got robbed last year. No stupid mistake like that ever again. My fault. This was on Fields so I guess you can't really get away from it there in A.C. Do you guys have any suggestions?. My pal lives in a gated community ...a house right off where savers is on McCarther. but those houses aren't my kinda thing. Thanx..... this buds for you! chok dii heythere p.s. same as anywhere mate best to be on the ground there find an area you like and sniff around there will usually be signs on the gates listing house for rent call the number i dont hang around angeles much myself so i'm not up with the market there good luck happy retirement

Same as Pattaya, although maybe a little bit cheaper. Whores are a damn sight smarter though, I know a guy who worked offshore with me in Angola they cleaned him out in under four months.

Lot of 'gated' communities around, but nothing in AC is really that safe. Best to get boots on the ground and look around. The closer you get to Fields, the shittier the housing and the more probability of getting robbed or otherwise ripped off. If you are taking a girl with you, and are not into the whore scene, there is absolutely no reason to live in AC. It is one of the biggest shit holes in the country. As far as I know, there are no AC expats on this forum. I, and I think two others, live in the PI, but nowhere near AC and never go up there. Better to ask your mate who lives there.

Given your stated requirements, I have to ask why you are choosing Angeles.
Barrio Barretto, near Olongapo, seems a considerably better choice.
I would think anywhere 'decent' near Angeles is a fair way out of town.

^Absolutely. Barretto has expats and bars, but it also has the ocean. It is way, way better than AC. And, if you need a sleaze fix, with the new AC/Olangapo highway, it's a short (and pleasant) trip to AC. I have a very good friend who has run a bar/small hotel/restaurant in Barretto for many years and he and his kids have a very nice life there. He goes to AC every couple of weeks to go shopping for things he can't get up there, and it appears to work well for him.

mid 80's i lived there for 6 months the base was still there and i was in my 20's was great but i can't keep up that pace anymore nothing there to see or do for an old bloke taking it easy on the beach is my style now.

The condo offer in AC is very poor. Few projects at expensive prices. What you might save on ladies compared to Pattaya you will surely waste on crappy real estate.
