    How secure is the airport?

I have been planning a visit for several months .. now that everything on my end is "lined up" there appears to be a potential travel issue in Bangkok.

    How secure is the airport?
Any talk of the peaceful demonstrators capturing the airport .. again?

I seen posting on other sites reporting difficulty in obtaining tickets out of Bangkok .. is this due to many "fleeing due to inaccess to Siam Paragon."
. or has air travel already been interrupted already (I do not follow Thai news on a regular basis)

No, don't come to Thailand, it's dangerous, filled with criminals, tuk tuk drivers that will slit your throat, jet ski scammers, ladyboys that can pick your pockets with their penises, prostitute that can give you HIV just by smiling at you, police that can shoot you before they have asked you for 200 baht for the bullets and restaurants that will poison you with a glass of water.
It's like Rwanada but worse, stay away, don't even think about coming here, it's suicide.

Of course, but I was referring to changes related to Thaksin's bi-annual T Shirt extravaganzas ..

The Reds werent bothered with it, but maybe now they've had their way the Yellows might get all stinky and close down the Airport again.

They'll mostly offer you free noodles and apologise for the disruption. I wouldn't bother about it, but if it bothers you go somewhere else.

If you are worried that your tourist visa will become a retirement visa you probably shouldn't fret but you should check if your government has issued an advisory against travel to Thailand because that could effect (ie nullify) any travel insurance you might have.

Silly but true, according to the UK govt. you are safer in somewhere like Sierra Leone than in Thailand.

anybody with half a brain would be a total idiot to go anywhere near the airport in the present climate.

i don't want to scare you with what i heard from a reliable source today, and i can't post the information because i might become a target myself, so you will just have to take my word for it, but since the request for amnesty for the redshirt leaders has been denied, it is possible that farang may be targeted entering and leaving the airport.
black people are reported to be especially at risk, as well as obese males from england or germany.
the passport scanning system has apparently been hacked and certain groups are to be targeted:
    eg:
if you are a lawyer living in chiangmai for instance, you may be on the hit list, so try to get a copy of the list before considering entering the airport premises.

(for some reason lawyers from chiangmai seem to piss plenty of people off)

just trying to be of assistance.

good luck and welcome to teakdoor forum, where you can get the REAL answers.
    brrrzzzzt, brrrzzzt!
    beep!. ting, ting
    redirecting, please be patient..........:

    hello, insect!
    brrrzzzt, brrrzzzt..................
