simply present at the border and you are given a free 90 day visa.
90 for you and 30 for her in doors in Peninsular Malay
Thanks, thinking to head down to the Sunway water park next month for a week and then phuket for few days.....possibly fly over to Borneo for few days also as i had always wanted to go there.
Shall have a nice little report with picci's hopefully to write up.
If anyone has been to the Sunway theme parks, please let us know what they are like.
I presume the 30 days for Thais visa is a simple affair at the airport ??
Spot on.
At Immigration on arrival.
Different regulations are in place for Borneo, however, you will need an entry permit upon arrival as well as proof of intended departure.
Sunway Waterpark is quite good, just during the week (not during Hari Raya) and you should have some fun.
Drop me a line before or when you're in town!
Thanks...what is hari raya...I know google is a marvelous thing.
The entry permit for Borneo...whats involved there ? Can get from KL, as not sure we will go there until we are in KL though. Unless you have a recommendation for the place ??
Do you live in KL ? Planning, but not booked yet, for the 8th of October.

CamelToe, on our last trip, all we filled out was an immigration card . . . then it was on; Climbing Mount Kinabalu, white-water rafting while out two littlest ones were ate the children's club at the Shangri-La in Kota Kinabalu, diving and snorkeling in the Tunku Abdul Rahman Nature Reserve . . . bloody fantastic! (Oh, and the best Butterfish-sashimi at the Hyatt . . .Originally Posted by Nawty

I agree, Sunway is fun if it's not a Malaysian holiday.
As long as your missus has a passport, entering the peninsula isn't a problem.
Yeah, but you have a Malaysian visa, yes? Does your missus, as well? If so, that'll be the difference.Originally Posted by panama hat
Me? So little money, so little time. Just a note to you .. did you grow up in the Zone? If so did you ever attend an international school? Do you know who Ruben Blades is?
Did the Public Liability/ H & S survey for the insurers of Sunway Waterpark before they opened.
Couldn't find a bloody thing wrong ! --
Was good then and I imagine just as good now !
Visa for East Malaysia
My lady was on 30 day visas ( Taiwanese) and as long as her West Malaysia had a week to run there was no problem as long as she had a return ticket to K.L. within that week there was no problem.
Added advantage was that on returning to West Malaysia she got another 30 days !!!
This was in 1996 - 2000 - may have changed since then though

This is before and after we moved to Malaysia - same procedure. Neither of us is Thai however, so I am not sure about Borneo for ASEAN members.
And that's a good and rare thing in Asia . . .(Still waiting for the ethylene project to re-open - definitely have not forgotten)Happyman:

Who writes this crap ???
Borneo is an island containing 3 countries - East Malaysia- Indonesia and Brunei.
So you get your Borneo visa( from the "Borneoese" non existent embassy) and then what ??
Apart from paying out a total of 49$US all you will have is an interesting souvenir of a trip you were unable to take !!!
Regulations differ for each country and there is no country called Borneo !!!
If you have a valid Malaysian visa and want to go to East Malaysia (on Borneo)you just go to the airport and get a flight !!
Yup, I took the question to mean Sabah and Sarawak . . . fill out the immigration card (again) when you arriveIf you have a valid Malaysian visa and want to go to East Malaysia (on Borneo)you just go to the airport and get a flight !!
In town on wednesday for 5 nights, then off to Taman Ngara maybe. but not sure, seems a bit of a hike to get to any hotel there of any decent location or quality. Like 2 or 3 hour bus and then 2 or 3 hour boat. Wasted day up and back just travelling, though the boat trip would be nice, not sure to long for 2 kids.
^^
Borneo has three zones:
Malaysia - Saba / Sarawak i.e. Kota Kinabalu, Labuan Island (duty fee zone) & Miri are the main airports
Brunei - Brunei
Indonesia - Kalimantan
For Malaysia and Brunei - for Auzzie and Thai's max 30 days on arrival - no charges but plenty of forms to fill out.
For indonesia, Auzzies pay a US$ entry visa fee (same same Bali) - Thai's do not pay a fee as they are under the ASEAN agreement.
Air Asia is usually the cheapest carrier to Brunei, Miri and KK from the KL LCT
KK would be the best place to head for.
Passports are chopped and they (usually) thoroughly scrutinize at the borders to stop cheap labor trafficking from Indonesia.
if you are heading to Kuala Lumpur Genting theme park is very nice about 45 mins from KL on top of a mountain you can visit for the day or had hotels to stay a few days lots to see plenty to do the cable car ride upto the resort is awesome ... have fun
I am an Indian Citizen, working in Malaysia on a Employment Pass. I would like to know if i need a Visa to go to Kota Kinabalu. Please advise.
REgards,
Sorry KSS, no idea about requirements for Indian nationals . . . but I cannot imagine that you would need a special document or separate visa.
We just returned from KK again a few weeks ago . . . simple
