    Travelling to Doha, Qatar.

    Hi All,

I may have to go there for a couple of days meetings. As I am a UK citizen I qualify for the "visa on arrival". Is this a simple "fill in a form" process like coming into Bangkok or do we need other supporting paperwork?

    Thanks in Advance, Cheers, TP

Yes it is. enter the air terminal and then go to your left there's a counter for filing your short term business visa. Was easy before but I haven't done this in recent years.

You may have to fill an arrival card; if they don't give them to you on the plane they will be at immigration.

    Not dissimilar to BKK.

3 ladies flew into Paris today with full yashmak attire expecting to get through immigration and refused to reveal their faces.
They flew in from Quatar so i wouln't worry about ethics and customs mate.
Thankfully the French are not soft and they were boarded back on the next plane.
In the UK it would be a trial before (softie) tribunals.

I work in Doha and read the story about the three females who were refused entry into France because of the Burka and face veil.

I am glad I am not French and having to come to Doha on business, any French person will be jumping through a multitude of hoops for Immigration and Customs here in Doha.
It has already started for the Total Engineers working on Halul Island just off Doha. Come in by chopper from offshore to Gulf Helicopters and made to wait until all Gulf and other personnel clear arrivals at the heli-pad and thats only the start???
They have just started on the French departing at Doha Airport departures via there partner airline KLM as Air France don,t fly in here. Doha ground services for KLM are on a go slow so I am told by one of our guys flying to Amsterdam and onto Aberdeen. Happy Days ahead.

These feckers here have long memories and a lot more money than France!!!!! I wonder who will win this???
