Well , today's visit went well and she was noticeably better focused than the day before and seemed great , I brought her the usual fruit bowls and coconut juice but I had forgot the gigantic spicy instant Sri racha noodle bowls in a polysterene bowl that she likes . And get a Bollocking and a rant about how bad hospital food is. So I knew straight away that things had turned a corner and she was herself once more. She even asked me if i had been drinking much. To which I replied no more than usual. She seemed satisfied with thst answer

Anyway I was allowed to take her out of the ward for 2 hours so we found a Vietnamese place not far. That seemed to have done the trick so back to the ward and spoke to the doc who confirmed she has been acting quite normal and suggested tomorrow she can come home for the night on a trial. If any quirky behaviour or I wake up with my bollocks missing then bring her back to admit again. Somehow I think it's gonna be ok tomorrow . We will see.

    No recall?

the fact the doc has no idea does not bode well for the future…

Mate, I am so sorry to hear this. It's good to hear that she is doing better, let's hope this is a continuing path. How is she coming to terms with what she has done and what has happened to her? It must be incredibly frightening for her.

How are you and the kids coping now?

i trust the aussie doc will test for all the relevant medical issues that could have caused this episode before moving on to a psychological diagnosis.

it's not really good enough to send the patient home saying "bye bye, we dont know what caused it" before testing for and ruling out those things that may have caused it.

Initially she was in the emergency mental health unit and had a brain scan and blood tests. Nothing detected. Doc ruled out bi polar . And a bunch of other afflictions and admitted he had no idea so she might as well go home.shes still acting weird, her friends think shes frustrated i think ocd personally., today she demanded that i retile the second toilet as it was a half ass job in the 1st place i agreed and a plumber and tiler will arrive in the morning. New shitter , new tiles. Not good enough why you dont replace the shower same time. Hard to clean. She doesnt realise its 1 week work and no shower for about a week plus thousands$$$. It was fine before all this. I cant win and im fucking exhausted

^^ not being sappy, but i would not know how to deal with any of this. Just can only wish you all the best. Mental illness just leaves me adrift.

I'd probably take the safe, cowardly and cheap (assuming free healthcare) option and leave her in hospital for as long as it takes.

Cos I'm Scottish and I'm not paying for a new bathroom.

Another day of weirdness yesterday. All day cleaning by her and all day painting by me. I had to duck out for an hour and came back to find she had dis assembled the bunkbed that took me about 3 hours to assemble so my youngest boy could get his room back instead of sleepong with me. I hit the roof and it all kicked of again. Took about 3 hours to calm her. Returning her to hospital would of been problematic as it was a public holiday and it probably wouldnt of been deemed an emergency

FFS, you're in for the long haul.
Care in the community I believe it's called.
Medication and help is what you need.
You're not alone, many go through this chapter.
Imhe it's all about damage limitation to the kids and yourself.
Apologies for being the bearer of bad news.
Just my personal take and experience.
    Shalom

I'd also suggest listening to qualified doctors and mental health experts that have examined her, as opposed to uneducated factory shift workers that have never met her.

Best of luck, sorry to hear it's continuing. :/

It’s devastating when the loony tunes start playing.
I married a sweet, kind, smart and brave woman and two years later when menopause kicked in she became a horrible irrational monster at times.
    Too many times.
After four years of this crap I just ran out of coping and caring and quit.
Despite having immense reserves of patience, tolerance, kindness and understanding.
I’m not a doormat or a punching bag.

Yesterday As the day went on she got progressively erratic , kept insisting me and the kids eat apples wash our hands wouldnt let me out of her sight took her to the mall where she suddenly said we have to go home now, ok. Stopped at the post office 2 minutes from home and she freaked out. Wouldnt stop listening to this bloody lao music sung by kids over and over. I called the emergency health line and told them the story
They are able to pull up her details. They sent 2 nurses over to talk to her but were really of no use. Said they will make an appointment for her next teusday. Last night she said to me im anne. Im your mother, im leaving now im going to scotland to join your dad, woke the kids up to say farewell . My oldest boy called 000, police and an ambulance came and spoke to her but as she was in bed wouldnt take her. I slept on the couch.

This is all absolutely terrifying Mate. Surely she is a danger to herself and should be sectioned for observation in the meantime...?

I'm leaving now I'm going to Scotland
    ...maybe even a little longer...
