Royal Thai Air Force orders Aerostar UAVs

Royal Thai Air Force orders Aerostar UAVs
    Arie Egozi

The Royal Thai Air Force has bought an Aerostar unmanned air vehicle system from Aeronautics Defense Systems of Israel.

There are options to sell more systems in the near future, sources say.

In 2009, Thailand's air force outlined its need for a UAV capability, and evaluated several options before selecting the Israeli design.

    The Aerostar is 4.5m (14.8ft) long, has a wingspan of 7.5m and a maximum take-off weight of 210kg (463lb).

The air vehicle has a 12h endurance and a loiter speed of 60kt (110km/h).

I hope the 'caution propeller ' will be written in Thai - otherwise some sqaddie from Issan is sure to walk into it !!
on the otherhand it might be better to park them up on the Thai Aircraft carrier and not start the engines - they will look impressive if nothing else !!

So, who's gonna give the southerners the ground-to-arm rockets to knock it out of the sky??? Or, are the government gonna use it for Bkk demos and political puposes?

These wankers (Thai military) really need to have their heads pulled in well & truly but the only person who can do this (& many other sensible things) remains speechless.

Strange that there is no mention of cost though

Maybe they have not worked out the cost of training , spare parts and kickback yet !

Will certainly impress the unsettled Muslim south of Thailand knowing that they are being watched by an Israeli
    built spy plane !!!
