Pattaya “Tukcom” Homosexual VCD/DVD Vendors Arrested
Region 2 police conducted an investigation into alleged reports of a large scale pornographic VCD/DVD operation in Sattahip on Wednesday. The investigation led to the successful apprehension of one mobile street vendor offering homosexual pornographic material for sale.
Pattaya, the 26th of May 2010 [PDN]: At approximately 11:00pm on Wednesday, police Lieutenant Colonel Kreetha Tonkhanarat (Police Region 2 Deputy Superintendant) along with Major Phornchai Gingsawad (Police Region 2 Chief Inspector) conducted a team of officers in the Sattahip area in an investigation of an alleged pornographic ring operating in the area.
During the search and investigation police successfully apprehended Mr. Salee Saechua [33] and a 16-year-old accomplice in possession of a large quantity of homosexual pornography. The suspects, believed to be selling the illegal material in the Pattaya and Sattahip region, were arrested with over 360 homosexual pornographic VCD’s and DVD’s concealed in Mr. Saechua’s green Mitsubishi. The arrest was made as the offenders arrived at IT City ‘Tukcom’ carpark in South Pattaya to setup their illegal operation for trade.
Under interrogation Mr. Saechua confessed that he had bought the illegal goods from a larger production/sales agent in Pattaya for approximately Bt100 per VCD/DVD. He further stated that he had intended to sell the pornographic material to foreign tourists for between Bt200-400 per item. Mr. Saechua alleged that he had been operating his illegal business for several years, hiring the underage boy to help in selling the products from his car.
Initially police have charged Mr. Saechua with distributing obscene/pornographic material whilst he has been remanded in custody whilst further investigations into the illegal operation are continuing.
