He wasn't and it didn't. Hence his Royally sponsored funeral.

Yes, he was a soldier into the final end, one of the best the army had.
At some point in time something went wrong for him though, looks like he was searching for power that he could not get.

Yes, despite his scintillating personality, or his charming conversation, he ended up as an aerobics instructor.

What could have possibly gone wrong.

Agree, if anything he was probably too successful a product of the Thai army, and lost the balance between violence as a necessary instrument of defence and violence as a way of life and means of generating adrenalin.

He still did not deserve to be shot like a dog by some government soldier hiding behind a concrete wall.

    That thought isn't worth 2c.
No one has taken the responsibility for killing him, there are quite a few possible perpetrators but you know that it was a government soldier..
Not only that, you also know where they were hiding.

Yep, our friend Myofb certainly knows a lot for a newbie, doesn't he?

Well, either that, or he doesn't.

    So don't buy it.

Common consent is in agreement. Popular belief if you like. No evidence other than the rumoured name of a rumoured sniper private in the Thai army.

Not only that, you also know where they were hiding.

Read the account of the journalist who was interviewing him when the coward stroke felled him, look at the topology and take a view. My favoured conclusion is the Dusit Thani hotel. I understand that some people think it was the Chula hospital but I think that is the wrong direction, all other factors being correct.

Where did you buy that crystal ball of yours?

In general, crystal balls are unreliable and prone to errors of interpretation. I prefer other methods. If you want to learn about them then you can ask, I always try to help where I can.

At least I understand what's going on, and particularly what Abhisit's doing.

    Porntip challenges nurse autopsy finding

    DEATH IN WAT PATHUM
    Porntip challenges nurse autopsy finding

    By The Nation
    Published on June 3, 2010

A volunteer nurse shot dead inside the Pathum Wanaram Temple had just two wounds on her body, Central Institute of Forensic Science (CIFS) director Khunying Dr Porntip Rojanasunan said yesterday.

She was speaking out against the autopsy result released by the National Police Office's Institute of Forensic Medicine (IFM), which said the 25-year-old nurse, Kamonkate Athart, sustained up to 10 gunshot wounds - three in the chest, six in the arms and legs and one in the back.
Porntip dismissed any suggestion that Kamonkate was targeted in a hail of bullets.

Kamonkate's body was one of six retrieved from the temple on May 20, one day after the red-shirt rally at the Rajprasong intersection ended after intense military pressure. The deaths have raised many questions because the temple had been declared a no-killing zone.

Porntip said she and her team had examined the six bodies at the Pathum Wanaram Temple and collected evidence there, before the bodies were sent to the IFM for autopsies.

"One of the bullets hit the nurse in her arm while the other pierced her right waist and went deep into the base of her brain," Porntip said based on her examinations.

So far, she has not taken part in the autopsies, which have been performed by IFM.

To date, the relatives of the six victims have already claimed the bodies for funeral rites.

Aside from Kamonkate, the other deceased victims were Attachai Chumjan, 28, Mongkhon Khemthong, 36, Sukan Sriraksa, 31, Akkharadej Khankaew, 22 and Wichai Manphae, 61.

Clearly one of them has it wrong, so one of them will have to go.

Oh I see, so because it was 2 and not 10 bullets that changes everything right? She and five others died there. It changes nothing - except someone has got it wrong about the number of injuries this nurse sustained.

Oh but look, the families have claimed the bodies and so there will never be an impartial third party to settle the issue. Remember "Khunying" Pornthip is working for the CRES.

Pretty amazing. Someone shot a nurse attending an unarmed shooting victim. We need to know if this crime was perpetrated by government soldiers. It appears to have been, and the burden of proof lies with the government. So far the CRES is pushing very lame excuses. Now we are supposed to accept the findings of Dr. Porntip, who is undeniably in their employ and therefore can't be reasonably expected to be impartial. Cheeky bastards, CRES and the army.

I think Pornthip has been read the riot act by the Amart. She must do their bidding - and it may well be a direct order that cannot be ignored.

The IFM (police) have traditionally carried out all forensics in Thailand and many autopsies.
Attempts to establish forensic science in Thailand along international guidelines have been blocked by the police.
The IFM also objects to there being an independent forensic science department in Thailand.

Pornthip was appointed head of CIFS Thailand a few years ago, but kept almost inactive, with a position, and no office! The Bib did all their own forensics and all DNA samples were sent to China for analysis as the cops didn't have the skills.
Strange, as several hospitals and labs in Thailand are capable of doing DNA testing and analysis.

Restricted in forensics by the police, she has been working in a secure army compound until recently. Her struggle to achieve autonomy in a male dominated field has met with. opposition.

She was too much of a threat to bent coppers and their mates and masters.

Now she is a member of CRES also, thus capable of putting forensics into crowd/crisis control.
That she can do by following international and scientific guidelines.

IFM, who performed the nurse's autopsy, did not give a forensic report.
    That's Pornthip's job.

IFM's autopsy report indicates multiple wounds.
They would have been visible to all present at the temple examination she conducted, BEFORE the body was taken away to the police hospital across the road.

IFM has recently altered a death certificate, on request, by the family of a deceased red.

Oh yeah, those damn meddling Amart, eh?

It's amazing that it's always the biggest simpletons that figure out these complex conspiracies, isn't it?

How're the UFOs, and be sure to share the latest 9/11 theories, will ya?

My philosophy is simple - never assume conspiracies, when incompetence proves a far easier explanation. Occham's razor. Pornthip has proven to be goober multiple times, and I wouldn't exactly say that the forensic forces have proven their competence, ever.

I always felt that 'CSI Bangkok' would make for a really thrilling TV show -- as a comedy.
