Pattaya - Irish National beaten and robbed by Iranian Gang

Irish National beaten and robbed by Iranian Gang in South Pattaya

In the early hours of Monday Morning, Police and Rescue Services were called to the Pratamnak Road in South Pattaya, in front of Soi 6, to assist an Irish National who had been allegedly assaulted and robbed by a gang of Iranians.

The incident began in front of the Middle-Eastern Bars located at the rear of Walking Street.

Mr. Reza Shiraz aged 31 from the Republic of Ireland was about to leave the area on his motorbike when he spotted a fight between a group of Iranian men and a Thai Woman.

Mr. Shiraz intervened and rescued the Thai Woman and offered to take her to Hospital.

As the pair drove off, she received a phone call and told Mr. Shiraz to make a diversion to the Pratamnak Road.

When the pair arrived, a group of 6 Iranian men on three motorbikes confronted Mr. Shiraz who attempted to escape without success.

The men, one of them armed with a long knife attacked Mr. Shiraz and stole 1,460 Euro’s from his pocket and his motorbike.

There was an eye witness who was sleeping in a nearby constructor’s campsite who was awoken by the commotion and confirmed the details of the attack.

For now, Police are unsure if the entire incident was planned by the Iranian men or not.

    For now the investigation continues.

Irishman Brutally Bashed by Middle Eastern Gang in Pattaya

Irishman Brutally Bashed by Middle Eastern Gang in Pattaya

An Irish national has been brutally assaulted by a gang of Middle Eastern men whilst returning home from a night on the town in Pattaya’s infamous Walking Street. Various witnesses from the scene reportedly stated that the gang are made up of Iranian nationals.

Pattaya, the 26th of April 2010 [PDN]: At approximately 2:30am, police Lieutenant Colonel Wanllop Khangtharathip (Pattaya Police Investigator) was notified of an assault and robbery near Soi 6 on the Pratamnak Road. A team of officers along with the Sawang Boriboon Foundation were dispatched to the incident to investigate further.

At the scene, police observed the injured foreign man, Mr. Reza Shivaz [31] from Ireland, sitting on the curb in a distressed state, suffering from several wounds to his shoulder, legs and arms. Rescue personnel rendered first-aid to Mr. Shivaz before police took him to the station for interrogation.

Mr. Shivaz explained that he had been out to a pub in Walking Street, upon returning to his motorbike he observed a group of Middle Eastern men fighting in the street near the Marine Hotel. Stopping to capture video of the scene, using his mobile phone, Mr. Shivaz explained he then continued to his motorbike and proceeded to drive home.

The group of men who had previously been fighting, along with another Thai man, confronted Mr. Shivaz as he was leaving, attempting to rob him for the phone. Mr. Shivaz managed to escape the gang but was kicked off his bike after they had given chase. The gang then severely beat Mr. Shivaz, cut him with a knife and robbed him of his possessions, which included; a mobile phone, 1,500 Euro in cash and his Honda Click motorbike. Various witnesses from the scene reportedly stated that the gang are made up of Iranian nationals.

Police also interrogated a witness to the assault, Mr. Somkid Saeksap [38], who stated that he had been sleeping near the scene when he awoke to find a group of Middle Eastern men and one Thai man assaulting Mr. Shivaz.

Mr. Saeksap stated that the men appeared to steal various items from Mr. Shivaz’s possession before they left the scene. Mr. Saeksap explained that he had not tried to intervene due to there being at least 6 men involved in the incident and that he was unwilling to receive a similar beating. Although he professes that he immediately assisted the victim after the violent gang had left, also notifying police.

Police investigations will continue on Monday in an attempt to apprehend the violent gang of foreign thugs and retrieve Mr. Shivaz’s personnel belongings.

True, accuracy in the details is never their strong point.

He was probably an Iranian beaten by a gang of Irish.
