Australian suspected drug dealer caught by Pattaya Police

On Monday Night Pattaya Police received information from an informant that an Australian Man was reportedly selling class 1 drugs outside a Family Mart Convenience Store in Soi Arunothai in Central Pattaya.

Police teams converged on the location and claim to have witnessed an exchange of drugs between the target and a second foreign man who managed to escape when Police moved in to arrest the suspected dealer, Mr. David Neil Hill aged 31.

He was found to be in possession of 1 packet weighing 0.27g of Crystal Methamphetamine known here in Thailand as “Ya Ice” and two packets totaling 0.47g of Cocaine. He was also in possession of electronic weighing scales. Despite the evidence, Mr. Hill claimed he was not selling the drugs and the drugs found on him were for personal consumption only.

Police and not convinced and have charged Mr. Hill will class 1 drug dealing offences. He will now have to convince a Judge that he is innocent of the charges brought against him.

Most countries he would be bailed within a few seconds of being charged, Thailand he's most likely enjoying his evening in prison, probably a big deal for him.

It's probably to let you know it's a big deal if you get caught with drugs in Thailand.

It's also worth noting that the Police themselves could have easily planted the evidence on the accused and set him up.

If you're selling drugs, hide small amounts in a cigarette packet. if you are caught you can claim you were in a bar and picked up the wrong pack from the table. Its difficult for the court to find guilt "beyond all reasonable doubt" in circumstances like this.

However, if you are fucking stupid enough to be carrying around electronic scales with you then you may as well have "I'm a drug dealer" tattood on your forehead.

Apart from being set up on a stop and search people must be crazy to sell drugs in Thailand, you will get court ,the law of averages .
