A red shirt-affiliated group in Chiang Mai has mobilized protestors via local radio stations to surround the provincial town hall.
A Red Shirt-affiliated group in Chiang Mai has used local radio stations to mobilize protestors to surround the provincial town hall as suggested by the fugitive former Prime Minister Thaksin Shinawatra during his video conference to the anti-government protestors last night.
The protestors are aiming to pressure the government to dissolve the parliament.
The protestors have also set up a donation center to receive food and medical supplies to be sent to the mass rally in Bangkok.
Meanwhile, the security at the town hall has been strengthened by the police and volunteer forces as the road in front of the town hall has been reduced to a single lane.
Fences and barbwires have also been installed around the town hall building.
Governor of Chiang Mai Amornphan Nimanant has explicitly ordered the officials to keep a close eye on the situation.
Amornphan has also urged the public to follow the news at home and keep away from the high-risk areas.
