Farang Accused of Breast Groping.

I was quietly enjoying a beer and a bite to eat in the Pattaya Beer Garden last night at around 7.45 p.m. when a farang sat down at the vacant seat next to mine and ordered a drink and some food.

A few moments later a Thai man accompanied by a Thai Police Officer entered the bar and went up to the farang. The police officer told him to stay seated.

I asked the farang what he had done wrong and he said nothing and that he had come to the bar directly from his hotel. He said that he had been in Pattaya for a week and had no problems with anyone.

Three farang tourist police volunteers then arrived and I was privy to hear the conversation at first hand as a smiling Thai woman who was wearing a yellow polo shirt and whom I learned later was a restaurant worker appeared on the scene.

The farang was asked if he knew the lady and he said no he did not know her.

She was then asked to demonstrate what the farang had done to her and she went behind the Thai policeman and put her arms around him with her hands on his chest.

The accused farang still denied any wrong doing, but he was told that the incident had been recorded on camera.

The Thai lady was still smiling and I could only assume that this alledged incident had happened at an earlier date. She did not seem upset at all, and maybe she knew that she was in for a big pay day.

The farang was marched away by the police who said they would take him to view the recorded incident at which time he accepted that if it showed him to be the dastardly breast groper then he would accept his guilt.

The police volunteers apologised for the interference to my quiet drink and assured me that this was a serious matter.

I said that the lady did not seem to be upset at all.

I have not seen anything as yet in the local pres but no doubt it will appear in due course.

So, the only fact established beyond reasonable doubt from the story is that a Thai policeman got his chest groped. He sure is entitled to some compensation.
