Australian national dies in hospital in mysterious circumstances

Updated: [December 8, 2009 ] :: 17:44:29 [view 108] AUSTRALIAN NATIONAL DIES IN HOSPITAL IN MYSTERIOUS CIRCUMSTANCES

An Australian national has fallen from his hotel in Pattaya in mysterious circumstances. The man sustained severe injuries before being rushed to hospital where he later died.

Pattaya, the 7th of December 2009 [PDN]: Police Lieutenant Colonel Wirawut Milai (Pattaya police investigator) received a report that a foreigner had fallen from an unknown floor in the Areca Lodge Hotel on Soi Bua Khao. It was reported that he had suffered severe injuries but was not dead. A team of police rushed to the scene of the incident along with medical professionals from the Bangkok Hospital.

Police managed to assertain that the man in question was Mr. Todd Adam Senior [29] an Australian national. When police first arrived at the scene Mr. Senior was on the ground crying in pain from his injuries. The medical team promptly sent him to the Bangkok Hospital.

After approximately 7 hours in the hospital, police Lieutenant Colonel Wirawut Milai received a call from the Bangkok Hospital informing him that Mr. Senior has recently passed away as a result of his injuries. A team of police went to the hospital to investigate the situation further.

Officers interviewed doctors who informed them that Mr. Senior had broken both of his legs and arms from the impact and that his face was severely bruised and swollen. The police ordered the body to be taken to the Banglamung Hospital were an autopsy will be carried out in order to assertain the cause of death. After which the Australian embassy will be notified so that the family can arrange for the body to be transported back to Australia.

Police Lieutenant Colonel Wirawut Milai declared that the Police are not sure about the actual cause of death or the reason behind the accident however; investigations will carry on in an attempt to solve the puzzling case.

I think that I could hazard a guess.

My god, it is becoming an alarmingly regular occurrence at the moment.

I wonder why this one is being treated as suspicious...

A young guy. Very sad. RIP.

Does anyone have a total for this year? Unbelievable.

It is best to live on the 1st floor if you are a farang in Thailand.

These sort of stories, especially this one it seems, never really add up to me. What, a 29 year old goes to Pattaya for a shag fest holiday like so many others and ends up "falling" of a balcony in an hotel? I bet there are more so-called "suicides" in just Pattaya each year than there are in the whole of the UK in a year. Is it some sort of Mecca for people wanting to top themselves in style or in a blaze of glory? If not then the alternative is disturbing but the investigation is lackluster usually. Tell ya, agree with Chitown there, if you go to Pattaya then make sure you rent a room on/close to the ground floor or at a place like Sabia Lodge on soi 2. There are way too many of these "incidents" happening these days.

    Hmmmm.........

Do they have any basement rooms for rent in Pattaya?

I guess some upset Thais would carry you to the 25th floor and toss you over the side.

A life in Thailand seems to be worth less to Thais than it does in the rest of the world.

Low balconey railings would be the reason for quite a few, I know my balconey railings I could rest my dick on so they probably wouldn't be considered high enough in many countries.

I remember a few years ago, I was with the Thai police from the foriegn crime suppression unit, aint a big unit and only half a dozen Thai police, over 3 months there were 3 suicides of farangs all in the same way, plastic bag over the head and hands tied behind their backs all in the same condo unit, I mean ok 3 suicides in the same condo is believeable, but in the same way? So I said to them didn't they think it was a bit strange, you know if someone is going to committ suicide they will do but they will choose their own method, most of them looked at me blankly as they didn't understand the concept, then one of them realised what was most likely to be happening as his eyes lit up, they are still listed as suicides though

Yep, when in Patters / Jomtien, I usually stay in a rented condo at VT 2A... Last visit I was on the 12th floor, went out on the balcony for a smoke and noticed the same thing... The top railing came up to the level of my groin... Very easy to lean on it the wrong way and over you go...
Give a man a match, and he'll be warm for a minute, but set him on fire, and he'll be warm for the rest of his life.

Massive bone breakages can bring on death due to internal bleading and bone marrow contamination.

So sad and so young! RIP.

Remember, both colov and miller really have no understanding of the Thai language, they needed the jobs for their reporting, try to get one of them to do a news report using the Thai language on youtube.

If they do not know what floor he fell from, was he even a registered guest at the hotel, visiting, or access to roof? May just be lack of info at press time but raise a few questions.

Best bet is to live in a house in the middle of a jungle, they might try and throw you from a high tree though
