Scots always come across as a rather, 'simple' people.
I've always found the Yanks and the Aussies to be the most excellent people.
Out of all the friends I've made on my travels they have been amongst the most warm hearted and helpful.
We do have our fair share of idiots that's true, but despite bein English I've never been anywhere and not been able to dispel peoples preconceptions of me.brits simply drink too much and make trouble ( i have worked in holland in hospitality for many years and i can say it didnt make us happy to get a group of britts)
Other countries have their to have their idiots to bare, young Italians and are a total pest and equally troublesome.
And as for the French,,,,,, well lets not even go there eh

From an outsider's point of view the different areas of the Islands out there are seen as:
English - Yobs who suck at sport (new version) Polite and nice (old version)
Welsh - Who and where?
Scots - Rough, but not unpleasant
Irish - Yes, everyone likes the Irish
No value judgements there, simply the way it is seen

Scottish name, sure. Different from the last time when you were trying to tell me that I was Scottish though innit.
But 'you' don't "own" me in the slightest... Or anything else unless given permission by your English masters and overlords.
Rumours of my ginganess have been greatly exaggerated by those it somehow pleases to think that I'm ginga.
The new Yob version don't suck [at] sport quite as much as the nice oldies, it would seem..?

"Nice guys finish last" Mibbe?
1966? Ok, it wasn't really a goal but you guys got the trophy
Actually, one thing I admire with English sportsmen in general is the gracious accepting of defeat (nope, no snide comments). Contrast this to the way Aussies tend to behave, or at least the media . . .
Rather be simple than despised.
I can't stand Republican Irish cunts with there chip on the shoulder with the English - fucking despicable ring peices the lot of 'em.
All the Scots living in my home town in England are true gentlemen and the Welshies are spot on too.
