Australian falls to his death from 21st Floor Jomtien Condominium | Pattaya One - Pattaya News, Thailand News, World News, updated 24 hours a day

A 45 year old Australian reportedly fell from a 21st floor apartment in Jomtien early on Tuesday Morning. Police are unsure if he committed suicide or fell due to his alleged intoxicated state.

Police and rescue services were called to the base of View Talay Condominium 5 on Jomtien Beach Road just after 5am. Lying on the ground was the body of Mr. Mark Anthony Woodward. The level of trauma suggested a fall from a high-floor apartment and it was confirmed that Mr. Woodward resided in a 21st floor apartment which was later inspected by Police.

During the initial inspection a badly damaged digital camera was found close to the body and on the balcony of his apartment a chair was placed close to the edge which leads Police to believe he may have been standing on the chair possibly taking a picture of the view when he lost balance and fell.

No evidence of third-party involvement in the death could be found and Police will now wait for the results of a post-mortem examination to determine his level of intoxication at the time of the fall.

The investigation continues and the Australian Embassy in Bangkok have been informed.

There must be am esoteric thing going on with the balconies in Pattaya. I remember once the lady of a friend of mine went berserk over some shit and wanted to jump off the balcony in View Talay 1.

We both didn't move since we thought she wouldn't do it, but then realized she would have actually done it if her girlfriend had not stopped her and taken her off the balcony. In a few seconds, you can end up in huge trouble although you did nothing except sippin on a beer. What can I say, This is Pattaya.

Are the railings that high that you need a chair to see over the top or was 21 floors up not high enough and he needed 2 ft more?

At some VTs I've been to, either for renting, buying or visiting friends, the balconies have been remarkably low. At one I viewed for renting, I wouldn't even rest my arm on the rail.

No problem, though, we can rest easy knowing that the contractor made a packet by forgetting to add an extra bar.

Quite possibly a new invention is a worthwhile consideration with all these view talay jumpers.

Formally I knew a few of the people behind the start of these constructions and bad luck haunted them as well.

Seems the place needs an exorcist.

My view is if a third party leaves no evidence then it easy to call accident.
along with suicide some will be accidents sure but not all.
