Great post ff, you summed it up well! There are many, even farang, that don't want to hear that.

I will only quote this bit as it doesn't need 100s of small multi quotes, but what if it was your son coming to visit, would that change your views? ie no women or children.Originally Posted by friscofrankie
My son knows Bangkok as well as anyone I know (including my ex-wife who lived there for over 30 years). I'd not be overly concerned if he still lived there.Originally Posted by dirtydog
I don't see this as some highly unstable and life threatening situation. But it could end up being a fuck of an inconvenience on arrival. Dangerous? Mildly, maybe. Still tell anyone wanting to come visit to hold off for a while, man, woman or child.
2nd item on the 10pm ITV news in the UK.
looked like the army were quite trigger happy firing into the air with M16s(?) and at hijacked buses. looked to be up towards government house at a guess.
And of course they had the quick interview of the typical british family on holiday caught up in it. " we saw all these protestors and then we saw the army so we thought we would wait in the middle to get a good view " well ok not quite but....
anyway, if anyone out there is near the troubles stay safe.
You dont pay them to stay for the night, you pay them to leave in the morning
