I was definitely drugged. I presume it was Rohypnol or similar from the effects when I woke in the morning. I was unable to talk properly, was salivating heavily and my co-ordination was shot to shit.

It certainly wasn't alcohol. I can drink 20 beers and spirits and still function.

Being drugged and robbed especially in areas such as Sukhumvit where there are freelance prostitutes and other ne'er do wells gather is a very common occurrence.

I personally know of at least two other long term residents here this has happened to and I have seen programs on local Thai television documenting prostitutes and ladyboys who engage in this type of criminal activity.

Got done in a Thai C&W style pub in Karon/Kata about 15 years ago. Had a 3 or 4 glasses of beer from jugs then just started losing co-ordination. Went outside to get on the bike home just as a mate, who was the guitarist for the band that night, pulled up in a tuk tuk. He saw I was fukt and got the tuk tuk to take me home instead of me driving with the lass on the bike.

Ended up smashing up quite a lot of furniture in the bungalow and couldn't open my eyes for a couple of days as the light just killed me. The headaches lasted for a week or so.

Nothing wrong with employing the services of a brass if it's been a while since you were laid.

Some basic rules though:

If you have anything in your room that you would miss if it was gone, put them at reception in a safety deposit box. If not, don't take anybody 'long time'.

Don't get drunk, have a couple of beers and find the woman you want. You'll have a better experience and you'll be able to remember it. She will also most likely prefer the company of somebody who isn't shitfaced.

Never accept a drink of any Thai you don't know.

true enough. The thai blokes ahve been known to drug the hookers also and steal their stuff.
