Drunk Swedish Tourist Falls and Is Run Over by Car in Pattaya Parking Lot

At 3:56 AM on June 20, 2025, the Pattaya Sawang Boriboon Rescue Center received a report of a serious accident involving a car running over a person in the parking lot of an entertainment venue on Pattaya Third Road in Chonburi. Sub-Lieutenant Wutthinan Kongdee, an investigator from Pattaya City Police Station, was notified and coordinated with volunteer rescue personnel to rush to the scene.

At the scene, Mr. Paul, a 54-year-old Swedish national, was found lying injured with severe head wounds after being run over by a white Mitsubishi Attrage sedan. He was groaning in pain next to the vehicle. Rescue workers provided first aid before urgently transferring him to a hospital.

The driver, identified as Mr. Phonlawat Onlamai, a 29-year-old ride-hailing driver, was in shock and cooperated with authorities. He stated that he was driving into the parking lot to pick up a passenger and did not see the victim lying on the ground. He felt the car hit something while turning, causing it to jolt, and stopped immediately. Upon exiting the vehicle, he was shocked to find an injured person and alerted authorities with the help of bystanders.

CCTV footage captured the incident, showing the foreign national lying on the ground with security personnel observing nearby. According to security staff, the tourist was intoxicated, fell, and despite his wife’s attempts to help, he lay back down due to his drunken state. The sedan then turned the corner and ran over him. Security personnel and the tourist’s wife rushed to assist.

Sub-Lieutenant Wutthinan Kongdee documented the scene and CCTV footage as evidence and took the driver to the police station for questioning to ensure a fair investigation for all parties involved.

Well, those two reports differ significantly.

    Oh, and 'FOB'.

I didn't see his wife's "attempts to help" on the video.

Hmmm, I had no idea this was such a thing.

The King County Medical Examiner has identified the woman struck and killed by a driver as she reportedly slept near the exit of a Capitol Hill apartment building parking garage last week.

Investigators say Angela Marie Willard died of blunt force injury of the torso in the Tuesday morning accident on Boylston between Pine and Pike. She was 49.
According to the report, Willard was hit and killed in the parking garage exit of the block-wide Pike Motorworks building.

CHS reported here on the 6:30 AM collision and investigation. According to police, the 49-year-old woman was reportedly sleeping, “laying in the roadway” when the driver exited her parking garage onto Boylston. Seattle Fire said it treated the woman and rushed her to Harborview in critical condition where she later died.

Police say the driver stayed on scene and cooperated with police. A Drug Recognition Expert evaluated her and found no signs of impairment, SPD says.
Willard’s death is the third vehicle and pedestrian related fatality in the area in June. CHS reported here on the death of two residents backed over and killed in a smoking shelter behind a First Hill senior community earlier this month.
Willard was reported as a Seattle resident.
