At 5:00 PM on May 16th, 2025, Lieutenant Pakan Pobnan (Deputy Investigation Officer) of Pattaya City Police Station received a report of a foreign national severely injured by a knife attack. The incident occurred in a parking lot opposite the Pattaya Provincial Court on Thappraya Road.
Investigative police and rescue volunteers from the Sawang Boriboon Thammasathan Foundation, rushed to the scene. They found Mr. Andrew, a 36-year-old British national, with severe injuries: A large 10-cm gash on the left side of his face, a wound on his left chest, a stab wound to his abdomen, and his left hand’s index to ring fingers nearly severed. He was writhing in pain, covered in blood. Rescuers provided first aid before rushing him to Pattaya Memorial Hospital.
Mr. Sayan Samanmit, a 49-year-old taxi driver and eyewitness, told the Thai Media that while waiting for passengers, a white Toyota Veloz with Phuket license plates sped into a parking lot nearby, crashing into some bushes. Three foreigners—two men and one woman of unknown nationality—exited the vehicle. The driver, a foreign man, approached the injured man, who was in the back seat, and dragged him out.
The victim was already bleeding profusely, suggesting he was attacked inside the car. The assailant attempted to slash the victim multiple times, while the victim fought back desperately before collapsing. The attacker then called the woman to get back in the car, and they fled, leaving the victim writhing on the ground. Mr. Sayan promptly called the police and captured clear photos of the suspect’s vehicle.
Police later attempted to intercept the suspect’s car, which fled toward South Pattaya Road, but it remains at large as of press time.
