In a decisive move to restore public access and maintain order along Phuket’s coastline, local authorities conducted a large-scale operation at Surin Beach. The plan followed resolutions set by the working committee tasked with addressing unauthorized use of public spaces.
Thalang District Chief Siwatch Rawangkool told the Phuket Express that heir mission on Wednesday (May 14th) was to dismantle unauthorized structures and remove encroaching items that had been placed on public land by individuals claiming ownership without legal rights.
Authorities explained that the move aligns with Phuket’s policy to promote transparency, orderly coastal management, and long-term sustainability in tourism and local development.
Officials assured that enforcement will continue to address similar encroachments, reinforcing the commitment to preserving public spaces for community use.
