A late-night brawl in Pattaya’s Soi Diamond saw a Thai woman brutally attacked by three women over a dispute reportedly involving an Indian man.
At 4:19 AM on February 16th, a violent altercation occurred in Pattaya’s Soi Diamond area near Second Road. The fight involved four Thai women and one Indian man. According to witnesses, the Indian man attempted to protect one woman by holding her in a headlock to prevent the other three women from attacking her, but one woman dressed in black ignored and continued to punch, kick, and stomp on the victim in full view of multiple foreign tourists.
Several bystanders stopped to watch the incident. When some attempted to stop the fight, the attacker warned them to stay out of the matter. Many others chose not to get involved.
A good Samaritan eventually stepped in, disregarding verbal abuse from the attacker, and helped escort the injured Thai woman to file a complaint with Pattaya police. Meanwhile, the attacker and the Indian man in a white shirt stayed at the scene and engaged in a heated argument. Shortly after, police patrol officers arrived and instructed all involved parties to report to the station for questioning. However, the attacker fled the scene before police could detain them.
The victim, later identified as 27-year-old Ms. Pariyat, told police that she had been in a relationship with the Indian man for seven months. On the night of the incident, she learned that her boyfriend was at a well-known nightclub on Walking Street, so she went there with a friend.
Upon arrival, she saw him talking to the group of women involved in the attack and approached to ask about it. However, the women became aggressive, claiming that the Indian man was also their boyfriend. Security personnel then asked all of them to leave.
As Ms. Pariyat and her friend were heading back to their accommodation, the group of women followed and reportedly assaulted her at the scene of the incident.
Police are reviewing CCTV footage from the area to track down the attacker.
