The Board of Investment of Thailand (BOI) has approved the development of the first realistic Jurassic World experience in Bangkok, making it the first tourism landmark of its kind in the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN).
BOI Secretary General Narit Therdsteerasukdi confirmed this week that the application for the 1.2-billion-baht Jurassic World tourism site along the Chao Phraya River, submitted by Asiatique The Riverfront Destination, has been approved.
He stated that the massive 4,000-square-meter Jurassic World: The Experience project will be part of the Asiatique The Riverfront Destination compound, a renowned tourism, lifestyle, and entertainment hub with scenic panoramic riverside views.
The BOI chief expressed confidence that realistic animatronic dinosaurs, inspired by the globally successful Jurassic World movie and created with advanced three-dimensional technology, will attract more international tourists to Thailand.
He also described the newly approved Jurassic World: The Experience project as a major new man-made tourism landmark and infrastructure development for Thailand and the region.
According to official figures, Thailand welcomed more than 35 million foreign tourists in 2024, generating over 1.67 trillion baht in tourism-related revenue.
Over the past decade (2015–2024), Narit stated, the BOI has approved 209 tourism sector projects, with a total investment value exceeding 200 billion baht.
