Police raided a beauty salon in Pattaya and arrested Vietnamese nationals for working illegally in a restricted occupation.
The arresting operation was conducted on February 4th, as ordered by Pol. Lt. Col. Piyapong Raksa, Deputy Superintendent of Investigation at the Tourist Police Bureau.
According to Pol. Lt. Col. Piyapong, authorities received a tip-off from concerned citizens about foreign nationals illegally working at a beauty salon on the railway road near Soi Nern Plub Wan. Officers then conducted an inspection of the salon during the business hours.
Upon arrival, police found a group of foreign nationals providing hairdressing services to customers. The officers identified themselves, presented their official IDs, and requested to speak with the manager or owner of the salon. A Thai female employee came forward and permitted officers to inspect the identification documents of the foreign workers.
However, Pol. Lt. Col. Piyapong revealed that the individuals were Vietnamese nationals and they were working illegally because hairdressing is an occupation prohibited for foreign workers under Thai law. Authorities then took the Vietnamese into custody and handed them over to investigators for legal proceedings.
