Public Shooting Incident Between Angry Groups of Parents in Pattaya Leave Multiple

A major verbal dispute between families escalated into a shooting incident that left multiple people injured on the night of February 2nd, 2025. The incident occurred on the side of the road along the railway before reaching Soi Siam Country Club, on the inbound side of Sattahip in Banglamung.

At 10:06 PM, Pol. Lt. Col. Jirasak Aepfaeng, an investigation officer at Nongprue Police Station, received a report of the shooting. He immediately informed his commanding officer, Pol. Col. Tawi Kutthaeng, Superintendent of Nongprue Police Station, and rushed to the scene with a team of detectives and rescue volunteers from Sawang Boriboon Thammasathan along with The Pattaya News team.

Upon arrival, rescue workers found three injured individuals: Ms. Phanicha Mahaniyom, 36, with a gunshot wound to her left arm requiring 10 stitches; Mr. Pramote Phutchan, 29, with a gunshot wound to his right leg; and Ms. Thanyawal Phromthep, 35, who was seriously injured in the back of her head. The injured were immediately transported to a nearby hospital for treatment.

An inspection of the scene revealed more than 10 bullet casings and bloodstains. Friends of the injured, who had fled and hidden in the forest, emerged to provide statements to the police. Ms. Phanicha Mahaniyom explained that the incident stemmed from a previous physical conflict between teen children of the injured parties, which led to an agreed meeting at a dirt lot for the adults to resolve the issue. However, the situation escalated when opposing parties arrived with more than 10 people and began shooting.

Ms. Athitaya Aob-un, 27, another witness, told TPN Media that the conflict began with a fight between two teen girls, Miss Na (assumed name), 13, and Miss Fa (assumed name), 14. The parents of Miss Fa insisted on resolving the matter with the parents of Miss Na, leading to the meeting. Upon arrival, the situation quickly turned violent, with Mr. Nut, a parent from the opposing party, allegedly assaulting Ms. Athitaya physically before gunshots were fired. It was not clear, however, who fired the gun as of press time.

A car’s front camera recorded footage of the argument and the subsequent gunshots. The perpetrators fled the scene on motorcycles and in cars. Pol. Lt. Col. Jirasak Aepfaeng and his team are currently reviewing CCTV footage and have identified some of the perpetrators. Efforts are underway to track them down and prosecute them according to the law as of press time.

Yes, Pattaya doesn't deserve its Thai asserted world class reputation. The Pattaya police appear to be very busy dealing with low quality people in Pattaya.

Two Men Surrender After Pattaya Shooting That Left Three People Injured

Two men, including the father of a 14-year-old girl involved in a dispute with another teen girl, have surrendered to police after a violent shooting in Pattaya, which left three people injured.

36-year-old Mr. Kittisak, the father of the 14-year-old girl, and 30-year-old Mr. Ekachai surrendered to Pattaya police yesterday, February 4th, after they allegedly fired a gun at the family they had a conflict with.

The duo brought with them a 9mm pistol and a 5-shot shotgun. They claimed that they were shot at first, which forced them to return fire. Mr. Kittisak alleged that he only aimed at the person holding a weapon and did not shoot at anyone else.

On the same day, Mr. Pramote, one of the injured victims, who had allegedly been shot in the thigh by Mr. Kittisak, walked into the police station to surrender. Mr. Pramote was seen in CCTV footage running for his life after being shot and jumping onto the hood of a truck while still holding a gun. He submitted himself to an investigating officer, along with a Glock 26 pistol.

Mr. Pramote stated that on the day of the incident, he was concerned about his niece and other younger relatives. He knew that the opposing party had allegedly previously threatened his family at their home and workplace and was aware that they were armed.

Mr. Pramote followed his relatives to meet the opposing party while carrying a gun for self-defense, he alleged. Shortly after, Mr. Kittisak and Mr. Ekachai arrived, and they agreed to fight one-on-one.

During the fight, Mr. Pramote saw a man in a black long-sleeve shirt pull out a shotgun. He then fired a shot into the air in an attempt to defuse the situation, but the man began shooting at him. He fled for his life but was shot in the leg, as shown in the CCTV footage.

Mr. Pramote claimed that he only acted in self-defense. He confirmed that he had no plans to engage in the conflict in the first place.

The police have charged the two suspects with attempted murder and violations related to the Firearms Act. An investigation is ongoing.
