Chinese Driver Accidentally Overturns Van on Pattaya Second Road, Causing Traffic Cha

A Chinese tourist’s van overturned on Pattaya Second Road, causing a traffic jam for over 30 minutes and leading to minor injuries.

At 10:06 PM on January 21st, the Pattaya Rescue Center received a report of a car accident on Pattaya Second Road. Upon receiving the report, Pattaya police and rescue workers rushed to the scene.

There, they found a white Toyota Alphard van overturned on the road. The driver, 43-year-old Mr. Xu, a Chinese national, had reportedly lost control of his vehicle, causing it to flip and block the road. This caused traffic congestion for over 30 minutes. The police assisted in managing the traffic until it returned to normal. Mr. Xu suffered minor injuries and was given first aid before being transported to the hospital.

Also involved in the accident were two other vehicles, including a black Chevrolet Cruze, which was rear-ended and then slid into a black Honda Civic. The Turkish tourist driving the Honda was lucky to escape the accident unharmed.

Witnesses reported that the van driver was swerving between lanes, then drove up onto the sidewalk before crashing into the rear of a parked car, causing the vehicle to overturn and block the road. The public helped extract the van driver from the vehicle safely before authorities arrived.

Police administered a breathalyzer test on the Chinese driver for alcohol levels, but the test result has not yet been revealed as of press time.

Alphard vans seem to have overtaken black Fortuners as the vehicle to stay well away from. A menace especially when driven by Chinese nationals.

    You forgot the smiley.

If you lived here in the north of Thailand, you would have experienced the poor driving skills of the Chinese who come down in their cars. Want to stop and buy some souvenirs? Just park in the middle of the road and shuffle on in. Speed? Why not? Especially if you are driving an Alfart van.

    Absolutely.

And their penchant for walking in the middle road...

I love sneaking up on them and blasting the horn though, great fun.

In your little red Honda Fiat?

Are you sure it’s a blast and not an impotent beep?

Oh I don't know. I found my black fortune to be quite intimidating to chicken head road users. That meant they gave me a wide berth and I didn't have to many altercations. They might of thought I was some hiso fucker. The window tint was pretty dark. But in my defence I was tall enough to see over the steering wheel.
