Thai Nurse Praised for Saving Japanese Mans Life in Tokyo

On January 21st, 2025, the Nursing Council of Thailand commended Sub-Lit. Sunaree Khiewsalab, a police hospital nurse, for saving an unconscious Japanese man at Asakusa Station on the Ginza Line in Tokyo.

The incident occurred on November 27th, 2024, when Sub-Lit. Sunaree reportedly used her professional skills to assess the man, who was unresponsive and had no detectable pulse.

She performed CPR and requested an AED from station staff. Once the AED arrived, the man regained a pulse without requiring defibrillation. Paramedics later transported him to a nearby hospital for further treatment.

The Nursing Council praised her swift, selfless actions, highlighting her as a role model for using her expertise to assist others and contribute to societal well-being.

If ever I need resuscitation I can only hope that it's carried out by someone like that, and not a fellow hairy-arsed contractor while working offshore.

I can understand why he would fake it to get CPR to be honest. But obviously there are limits.
