Thread: Nigerian Motorbike Rider Dies after Running Red-Light before Hitting Minivan

A Nigerian motorbike rider died after he was riding a motorbike before hitting a minivan at a red light at an intersection in Rassada.


Emergency responders were notified of the incident on Sunday (January 12th) at an intersection near the Tesco Lotus in Samkong. They arrived at the scene to find the damaged motorbike and the minivan.

The motorbike rider who was identified only as a Nigerian national had sustained severe injuries. The Nigerian was taken to a nearby hospital where he was sadly pronounced dead.

From that video it's not easy to see if it is a lot of motosais going through a red light or one van. Since the deceased is Nigerian I guess it will be his fault.

I thought it was SOP to wait for a few seconds after the green to allow for cretins racing through the red light.

Maybe those motosais did too. It really looks to me like that van was running a red light. Just my opinion.

You can just make out the red light. The van blew through it.

I'm sure he was, but only two motosais were actually in his flight path.

Somewhat over eager I would surmise. I mean it's not like he wasn't visible. They, however, made the foolish mistake of thinking he was going to stop.

The van driver must be Thai, because it says the Nigerian ran the red light before "hitting the minivan".
