Unidentified Foreign Rider Dies after Motorbike Crash in Kathu

A tragic accident occurred on Saturday, January 4th, resulting in the death of an unidentified foreign rider after his motorbike crashed at the infamous Limsan Curve on Wichit Songkram Road.

The Kathu Police informed the Phuket Express that they were notified of the incident at 7:45 AM. Emergency responders and the Phuket Express arrived at the scene to find a damaged rented motorbike with a shop sticker on the road. Nearby, they discovered the body of a male foreign rider with severe head and shoulder injuries. No identification documents were found on him. His body was transported to Vachira Phuket Hospital.

CCTV footage at the curve showed that the motorbike lost control before crashing into the guardrail. The rider, who was not wearing a helmet, was thrown from the road.

Police are working with the motorbike rental shop to identify the rider and inform his embassy and family.

A Honda ADV160? Just a scooter rather than motorbike. Still, it goes fast enough to get yourself killed.

Saw the video of that (non-gory).

Wide open throttle, into a long turn at full gallop, no helmet. Took the bend too wide and over the railing, that's all she wrote.

darwins "survival of the fittest/ natural selection" theory so neatly demonstrated here.

no helmet, speeding on an unfamiliar road and in all probability intoxicated to some degree and with no license.

of course those close to him will be devastated, but looking on the bright side he wont be passing on his "idiot" gene to any poor recipient soon, (and lets hope he hasnt done so already) and although there is still a long way to go, the world will be short of another idiot and just that little bit stronger.
