An intoxicated Belarusian man was taken into custody early Wednesday morning after injuring police officers and causing damage to police vehicles in Karon, according to the Karon Police.
At approximately 3:10 A.M., the police received a report from a concerned citizen about a foreign man causing a disturbance in front of a hotel near Karon Beach. Upon arrival, officers encountered 39-year-old Siarhei Asychuk, who was visibly intoxicated, clad only in underwear, and behaving aggressively. His wife and children were present, attempting to de-escalate the situation.
Despite efforts by both police and security guards to apprehend him, Asychuk resisted arrest, leading to one officer receiving moderate injuries. Additionally, in the course of the arrest, he managed to damage a police pickup truck. The incident was captured in a video that has since gone viral, highlighting the chaotic scene.
Asychuk was subsequently detained at the Karon Police Station, where he faces charges including public intoxication, causing a public disturbance, resisting law enforcement with violence or threats, and property damage.
He is set to appear in court on Thursday, December 12th. Meanwhile, his family has reportedly returned to their home country, leaving him in Thailand to face legal proceedings.
