A foreign man’s body was found floating near Koh Ped in the Sattahip district, Chonburi province.
At 4:30 PM on November 20th, Sattahip police were alerted to a body found floating in the sea near Koh Ped, approximately 3-4 nautical miles off the coast of Bang Saray in Sattahip district. Rescue teams from the Sawang Rojanathamsathan Foundation went to the scene to retrieve the body.
Upon arrival, the body of a large man, believed to be a foreigner, was found floating face down. The deceased, wearing blue and navy beach-patterned shorts, bore an English tattoo on his left wrist reading “HOPE CLUB.” It is estimated that he had been dead for 3-6 days. Fishermen in the area had anchored their boat nearby to guard the body until authorities arrived.
Rescue officials noted that earlier in the day, a fishing boat reported seeing a body near Koh Rang Kwian, about 13 kilometers west of Jomtien Beach in Pattaya. However, they could not find a body at that location.
Later, at around 3:30 PM, the body was discovered near Koh Kled Kaew (also known as Koh Ped), close to the Naval School in Bang Saray. The body was retrieved and taken ashore for further investigation.
The body was sent to the Institute of Forensic Medicine at the Police General Hospital for an autopsy to determine the cause of death. Police are checking missing person reports as of press time.
