A transgender woman was detained after allegedly pickpocketing a Korean tourist on a Baht bus in Pattaya on Saturday, November 2nd. The Pattaya City Police reported the incident to the Pattaya News.


At 1:20 A.M., police were notified of an argument between an unidentified Korean tourist and a transgender woman on a Baht bus. When the bus stopped in front of the Pattaya City Police Station, a transgender woman attempted to escape on a motorbike taxi that had been following the bus. She claimed that the Korean tourist had attacked her.


The Korean tourist informed the police that the transgender woman had stolen his pocket money, amounting to approximately 2,000 Baht, while on the bus. Upon searching the woman’s bag, police found 2,400 Baht. The stolen 2,000 Baht was returned to the tourist, and the transgender woman apologized. The tourist chose not to pursue legal action against her.

Mr. Somkit Boonsongnern, 50, the Baht bus driver, told police that he had picked up a group of Korean tourists from North Pattaya. The transgender woman boarded the bus at Soi 6. He heard shouting from the transgender woman before stopping the bus.
