On October 31st, 2024, the Thai Meteorological Department issued a weather warning, anticipating severe rainfall and colder temperatures across the country from November 2nd to the 5th.

A high-pressure system from China is expected to move into upper Thailand and the South China Sea, causing thunderstorms and strong winds in the northern regions initially, followed by a noticeable temperature drop.

The Northern and Northeastern regions are forecasted to experience a decrease of 2-4°C, with cold conditions likely in high-altitude areas such as mountain peaks. Central Thailand, including Bangkok, and the East will also see cooler mornings, with a slight temperature dip of 1-3°C.

In Southern Thailand, the monsoon trough’s intensity will likely bring heavy to very heavy rains, especially in the mid-South regions.

The public is advised to stay alert for potential flash floods and sudden water surges, particularly in mountainous and low-lying areas close to waterways.

People are urged to monitor further announcements from the Meteorological Department, available 24/7 on its website or by calling their hotline at 1182.
