Thread: Flooding affects residents of Ayutthaya’s Sena district

Residents in Sena district, Ayutthaya province, are moving their belongings to higher ground as the water level has risen more than a metre in just two nights. This year's flooding has arrived earlier than last year.


On Saturday, the flooding situation in Ayutthaya impacted residents in Hua Wiang sub-district, Sena district, because of water discharge from the Chao Phraya Dam.

The water level has risen 1 metre over two nights, and the water-level gauge in the village shows less than 50 centimetres remaining before it will reach levels similar to those of November 2023.


Residents believe the continuing rise in water levels is likely to exceed those of 2023. The rapidly increasing water has submerged the main road leading into Hua Wiang sub-district, making it impassable for small vehicles. Residents are now relying primarily on boats to travel in and out of the village.


Meanwhile, the water is continuously rising, flooding homes in lower-lying areas by up to a metre.


A resident of a flood-prone area said that while he has been monitoring official warnings and has moved some belongings to safety, he did not expect the water to rise so quickly. The rapid inundation has flooded his home, which is situated in a low-lying area and cannot be elevated because of financial constraints.


The community is working together, using boats to move belongings and disconnecting electrical systems to prevent electrical hazards.

In the the other thread concerning the possibility the PRC commies were responsible for inundations in Thailand because of upstream dam releases within their control, the Thai were unanimously considered to be mere bystanders and the Commies were responsible and failed to forewarn folk downstream in Thailand.

Perhaps they might wish to reconsider responsibility in the light of this report.
