He's paying a high price for being such a rash idiot. I'm guessing he's always been bit of a bully.

Urs Fehr or Mr David faces deportation as case judgement is due in Phuket on September 3rd next

Swiss expat Urs Fehr, also known as Mr. David, faces potential deportation as his case comes before the Phuket Provincial Court on September 3rd. With his business visa cancelled, Fehr remains in Thailand on a restrictive short-term visa to fight legal battles.

The case linked with embattled Swiss expat in Phuket, Urs Fehr, is due to come before the Provincial Court on September 3rd for judgement. Presently, the foreigner, whose business visa was cancelled in March, is staying in Thailand on a 30-day renewable and highly restrictive short-term visa issued solely to allow him to fight his legal case. The woman who brought the case, Dr. Thandao Chandam, looks forward to justice being done. In short, the fate of Mr. David, or Urs Fehr, now lies in the hands of the court. In particular, whether the foreigner, who has been a resident in Thailand since 2015, will face a deportation order or will appeal any decision.

Judgement in the legal case involving Swiss national Urs Fehr, known to most Thais as Mr. David, is due on September 3rd. 45-year-old Mr. David has become a notorious figure in Thailand.

Perhaps unfairly, the Swiss man, who momentarily lost his head in February 2024, has become a symbol of wealthy foreigners in Thailand using influence and patronage systems that certainly are at play in the kingdom.

It is understood that the case is also being watched by the Swiss Embassy in Thailand. At one point, there were concerns that Mr. Fehr was being unfairly treated, although officials later decided not to intervene.

The Thai Examiner is a foreign controlled publication and therefore has to be a bit delicate in its reportage.

Using the word ‘corruption ‘ in the same sentence featuring ‘ local authorities ‘ would of course be a bit foolish if one wished to avoid defamation suits and the like.

One wearies of the absurdity of this ghastly society.

In his defence he thought it was his property and he didn't know the person he thought was trespassing and kicked was a doctor.

How is assaulting an individual *ever* lawful?

You're within your rights to kill a trespasser in most countries, I reckon the lady in question got off lucky.

Why else would the steps have been dismantled by the local council.

This whole case smacks of underlying racism and double standards.
If the assaulted trespasser was not a doctor and merely a 200baht short time beach prowling ladyboy, where would the public outrage be then?

Throw into the mix that the perpetrator was white and wealthy, then you have all the Thai ingredients for a witch hunt.

Thankfully the impartial Thai justice system saw through the irrational charges and dismissed the case.
    Shalom

Please don't attempt to engage in discussion with Joe.

Show some awareness of local traditions.

    It's not much to ask.

He's even mentioned an article you can peruse
