Highway Policeman Shot Dead in Nakhon Pathom, Suspect on the Loose

A highway policeman was shot dead at the house of a sub-district headman in the Mueang Nakhon Pathom district.

The Mueang Nakhon Pathom Police were notified of the incident on Wednesday night (September 6th) at a house in the Ta Kong sub-district.

First responders arrived at the scene at the dining area to find two injured people. Major Siwakorn Saibua, an inspector from the Highway Police Region 1, had sustained severe injuries from seven bullet wounds. He was later pronounced dead. The other injured person was Lieutenant Colonel Wasin Panppee. He had sustained injuries from a bullet wound to his arm.

Captain Boonleang of the Mueang Nathon Pathom Police told TPN media that the gunman has been identified as Mr. Tananchai Manmak, 45. They are currently hunting for him. Meanwhile the Crime Suppression Division (CSD) Police are also hunting for the sub-district headman too, who wasn’t immediately fully named.

It has been reported by the CSD that the sub-district headman invited a group of the highway police for dinner. The sub-district headman was talking with Major Siwakorn and the sub-district headman allegedly asked for the promotion of another highway policeman who works with Major Siwakorn. This individual also wasn’t identified.

However, the discussion did not go as was planned. Major Siwakorn told the sub-district headman that the promotion must follow the normal process. The sub-district headman became angry before he left the discussion. After that, the gunman came in before opening fire at the dining room table, say the CSD police.

The suspect remains on the run as of press time.

What I find particularly amusing about these incidents is the response of so-called expats, particularly stupid Seppos and poofs, who all claim in defence of this stupid and savage society “ it could happen anywhere “.

I believe that the actual gunman was found shot dead this morning. Guess he won't be telling who ordered him to do it.

My wife tells me, dunno how she knows, that the 20 odd policemen at the house party none made any effort to catch the shooter. In fact she says that the 20 odd officers cleaned up the crime scene and wiped all local video clips.

Suspected cop killer gunned down by police in Kanchanaburi province

A man, suspected of fatally shooting a highway police officer and injuring another in Nakhon Pathom on Wednesday night, was shot and killed by police in Kanchanaburi province early this morning (Friday).

Police claim that the suspect, identified as Thananchai Munmark, resisted arrest by opening fire at a police car, forcing the officers to fire back in self-defence. The shooting took place in Tha Rua district of Kanchanaburi at about 5.45am this morning.

Another suspect, identified as “Praween”, aka “Kamnan Nok”, the influential chief of Ta Klong sub-district in Nakhon Pathom, surrendered to Crime Suppression Division (CSD) police at the Mueang district police station yesterday. He denied all the charges against him.

Arrest warrants had been issued for Praween and Thananchai, after both men were accused of killing the highway police officer and injuring the other in the compound of Praween’s house. It was reported that Praween had invited the two officers, among others, to his house for a familiarisation dinner, during which he asked one of the officers, Pol Maj Sivakorn Saibua, for promotional favours for some police officers who are close to him, but the officer refused. Praween reportedly got angry and left the dinner table abruptly. Shortly afterward, a group of gunmen arrived and opened fire at the two officers.

The incident prompted the commissioner of the Central Investigation Bureau to order the “Hanuman” team of CSD officers to hunt the gunmen down, with an instruction to use “decisive” force if the suspects resist arrest, claiming they were armed and dangerous.

Meanwhile, Pol Gen Surachate Hakparn, the deputy national police chief, has ordered an investigation into the conduct of about 20 police officers who were reported to have been having dinner at Praween’s house on Wednesday night. An investigative superintendent of Nakhon Pathom province is believed to have been among them.

Some of the officers there are accused of aiding and abetting the escape of the gunmen and helping to destroy some evidence in an attempt to cover up the shooting.

Local officials in Thailand to be vetted before appointment

Interior Minister Anutin Charnvirakul has instructed all provincial governors to check the backgrounds of individuals before they are appointed as officials, citing the case of “Praween”, aka “Kamnan Nok”, a sub-district chief in Nakhon Pathom province.

Praween is accused of involvement in the killing of a police officer and the wounding of another at his house on Wednesday night, reportedly after his request for promotional favours for some of his men was rejected.

Anutin said he wonders how Praween was appointed Ta Kong sub-district headman (kamnan) in the first place, adding that he does not want unsuitable people to be appointed again.

Praween has been suspended from duty by Nakhon Pathom’s governor, pending the outcome of the investigation into the brazen attack on the two police officers.

Praween was escorted to the Crime Suppression Division headquarters in Bangkok today (Friday) for further questioning and detention, following his surrender yesterday. He has denied all the charges against him.

His bodyguard, who allegedly shot the two officers, was killed by police in Kanchanaburi province early this morning, after he shot at a police car while attempting to evade arrest.

According to the CSD, 21 police officers, including four superintendents, were attending the monthly dinner at Praween’s house on Wednesday night. Some of those present have been accused of aiding and abetting the escape of Praween and the gunman after the shooting and of removing CCTV equipment from scene.

Gunman in Thai Highway Policeman Murder Shot Dead, Police Claim Suspect was Resisting Arrest with a Handgun

A gunman who shot a Thai highway policeman to death in Nakhon Pathom was shot dead by the Central Investigation Bureau (CIB) Police after escaping to Kanchanaburi.

The CIB Police told TPN media that the gunman was identified as Mr. Tananchai ‘Nhong’ Manmak, 45, from Ratchaburi province.

At 5:45 A.M. on Friday (September 8th) the CIB Police shot the wanted suspect to his death near a temple in the Ta Rua district, Kanchanaburi province.

The CIB Police told TPN media that the suspect was holding a handgun and trying to fight back against police to avoid arrest before they shot him to death.

TPN Media notes that some critics on social media have called for an independent investigation into the shooting, claiming emotions and anger were high amongst police and wanted to ensure transparency around the investigation and shooting.

Still, as a wonderful vignette illustrating the endemic corruption prevailing in this dreadful land and highlighting the symbiosis that exists between the police and ‘ persons of influence ‘, this incident cannot be bettered.

Gun thought to have been used in shooting of police officers found

The 25 police officers who were at the house of Praween Chanklai, aka “Kamnan Nok”, were questioned today (Saturday) by Crime Suppression Division officers, as another team located a handgun, believed to have been used by the now dead gunman in the murder of a highway police officer and the wounding of another at Praween’s house on Wednesday night.

A worker at the house in Nakhon Pathom province was questioned by CSD officers for several hours today, before he admitted to disposing of the gun, as ordered by the sub-district chief Praween, after the shooting.

He later led investigators to a spot near a swamp in Mueang district, where he buried the handgun wrapped in a piece of cloth. The weapon was found and submitted for ballistic tests, to confirm whether it is the actual the gun used in the shootings.

Meanwhile, Pol Gen Surachate Hakparn, the deputy national police chief, told the media today that the people who were at Praween’s house were separated into three groups, one responsible for destroying evidence and removing surveillance cameras in the compound of the house, a second responsible for aiding in the escape of Praween and the gunman and a third group, who simply dispersed after the shooting.

He claimed that police had found evidence to prove that Praween was directly involved in the fatal shooting, but he declined to elaborate.

As for the 25 police officers at the house on that evening, he said investigators have been trying to discover whether any of them were involved in destroying evidence, helping in the escape of the two murder suspects or failed to do their duty as a crime was committed and dispersed immediately after the shooting.

Surachate said that the case is not complicated and the investigation is expected to be concluded soon.

Police officers at Kamnan Nok’s house moved to “inactive posts” during murder investigation

A group of 25 police officers, who attended a dinner at the house of Praween Chanklai, aka “Kamnan Nok”, on Wednesday night when a highway police officer was shot dead and another injured by a gunman at the same venue, have been transferred to inactive posts at the operations centre of the Royal Thai Police.

Pol Lt-Gen Atchayon Kraithong, spokesman for the Royal Thai Police, said that the presence of the 25 officers, including four superintendents, at Praween’s house, who is the chief of Ta Kong sub-district in Nakhon Pathom, has sparked widespread public criticism.

Some of the group are accused of aiding and abetting Praween’s escape and that of gunman Thananchai from the scene after the shooting. They are also accused of destroying evidence at the crime scene.

The spokesman said the national police chief, Pol Gen Damrongsak Kittipraphat, wants to find out why the 25 officers were at the house.

Since Praween is an influential figure in Nakhon Pathom, the case has been transferred to the Central Investigation Bureau, said Atchayon.

Praween was taken by Crime Suppression Division police to the Criminal Court this morning (Saturday) to seek a court order to have him further detained, pending the outcome of the investigation.

The suspected gunman, Thananchai, was shot dead by CSD police in Kanchanaburi province Friday morning, after reportedly resisting arrest.

Atchayon also said that the police chief has ordered a nation-wide crackdown on criminal activities in which firearms are involved and local organised crime figures, adding that police officers have also been warned not to associate with such people or vice dens.

Thai Police Pledge to Cleanup Highway Mafias After Highway Policeman Shooting

General Surachet Hakparn, Deputy Police Commissioner and Thailand’s most well-known cop, has announced a plan to clean up mafia networks including those extorting bribes from overloaded trucks in Nakhon Pathom.

General Surachet told TPN media “A significant amount of evidence at the shooting scene was cleared and inspected including CCTV footage. The DNA of everyone at the scene was also collected.”

“Police found ten guns inside the sub-district headman ‘Kam Nan Nok’’s house. He has a huge network of construction businesses in which overloaded trucks are being used on many main roads in Nakhon Pathom. He knows many highway police and other high ranking police in the area,” General Surachet explained.

“We are now trying to clean up all so-called mafia networks including those extorting bribes from overloaded trucks in Nakhon Pathom, many connected with Kamnan Nok.” General Surachet noted.

Kamnan Nok has still denied all charges and planning the shooting.

You know, every new day in this ridiculous country is but a fresh scene of comedic farce played out in what is really just another production by their Theatre of the Absurd to an indifferent audience weighed down by cynicism and a supine powerlessness.

No mention in this report that the conductor wielding this new crusading baton was himself transferred to an inactive post after irregularities at the airports.

God, you just get weary of them.

Arrest warrants issued for six police in connection with police shooting probe

The Nakhon Pathom Provincial Court has issued warrants for the arrests of six police officers in connection with the killing of a highway police officer at the house of Praween Chanklai, aka “Kamnan Nok” in Mueang district of Nakhon Pathom on Wednesday night.

The six police officers were among others attending a monthly dinner at the house of Praween, chief of Ta Kong sub-district.

They were identified as Pol Maj Kiatisak Somsuk, investigative inspector of Krathum Baen district in Samut Sakhon province; Pol Lt Narongsak Taeng-ampai, a highway police officer; Pol Lt Nimit Salidkul, deputy inspector for traffic affairs in Mueang district of Nakhon Pathom; Pol Cpt Natthaphol Narkkorn, a highway police officer; Pol Lt Prasarn Rodphol and Pol Sub-Lt Sansert Srisawat, both highway police officers.

Last night, divers found a CCTV server in a canal behind Ta Kong Temple in Mueang district. The server is reported to have been removed from Praween’s house, wrapped in a black plastic bag and dumped into the canal after the shooting.

A handgun, thought to have been used in the shooting, was also found last night, buried near a swamp.

The man who disposed of the server was identified by police as “Thitinan”, a prison official who works at Praween’s house. He is currently being held in police custody.

Pol Maj Kiatisak and Pol Lt Nimit were ordered to be out of the service on temporary basis, pending the outcome of the investigation.

Pol Gen Surachate Hakparn, the deputy national police chief, told the media last night that one of the officers at Praween’s house managed to apprehend the gunman, identified as “Nong”, after the shooting, but released him after confiscating his handgun. Police shot and killed Nong in Kanchanaburi as he resisted arrest.

Surachate harshly reprimanded the 25 police officers who were at the house that evening, saying that their conduct is totally unacceptable. Without the police’s help, he said Praween and the gunman would not have escaped from the house and some of the evidence would not have been destroyed.

If you harbour the notion that this is not a third world, lawless, medieval snake pit of a country then you are probably an idiot……or an American……or a Russian……..or an African…..or an Indian………or a camel fucker……or Iranian……..or Brazilian.

After the failure of the G20 to condemn Putin and his henchmen for being total cvunts I don’t suppose it really matters, the world is a worthless turd and what does it matter an entire police force can be corrupt and dysfunctional in a country without an ethical compass worth shit.
