Thread: Pattaya Woman Allegedly Steals Almost One-Million-Baht Rolex from British Tourist

A British tourist said a Thai woman whom he invited to his room to hang out in Pattaya had stolen an expensive Rolex watch from him and fled. The wristwatch cost almost one million baht, according to the victim.


The British man, Mr. Mark B., 39, was bathing in his condominium’s bathroom while the woman was waiting outside. After he emerged from his bathroom, he discovered that the woman had vanished, and she had allegedly taken with her Mark’s Rolex watch, with a gold strap and a diamond-encrusted face worth nearly one million baht.

The victim filed a report with Pattaya Police and later gave an interview with The Pattaya News yesterday, May 7th. He said he did not know the name of the suspect as he had just met her at his condo in the Jomtien area of the Nongprue sub-district, Banglamung district, a few days ago.

The man stated that the incident happened in the evening yesterday. He stated he had invited the woman to his room just to hang out. When he saw that the woman had taken off with his expensive wristwatch, he ran after her and only saw her escaping around the corner.


Pol Capt Chonlawit Athipansi, deputy investigator at the Pattaya Police Station, told The Pattaya News that police are attempting to identify and locate the suspect. He promised that police would retrieve the stolen item for the victim as it had a sentimental value to him.

Just seen the watch in question. Seeking may be onto something.

Lower end trash in possession of these watches are generally money laundering. Insurance cover would be negligible, most items of value stolen in muggings and the like are limited in indemnity to a fraction of their worth unless the punter pays a fuck off sized premium.
The guy is a homosexual and a crim. And clearly quite stupid. Although it did cross my mind that the thing was staged because he doesn’t want to pay a debt and is claiming his only collateral was wrapped up in the Rolex.

^ If you mean gold and particularly gold watches are ostentatious then I agree. I also simply don't get the whole premium watch thing - I gave up on watches nearly a decade ago when phones, cameras and watches became one, oh and fuk wearing anything on your wrist in 30+ degs unless the authorities put it there.

Maybe the Thai he bought it off TOLD him it was worth a million baht.
