Thailand’s north and north-east warned of summer storms next week

People living in northern and north-eastern provinces are being advised to brace for summer storms from Monday through Wednesday, due to the onset of a moderate cold front from China.

The Meteorological Department said that the cold front will collide with the hot to very hot weather, which is covering the north of the country, resulting in heavy rain, strong winds and isolated hail.

North-eastern provinces are forecast to see thunder storms for several more days, due to the intensification of a low pressure cell in the South China Sea, as it steadily moves towards central Vietnam next Wednesday and Thursday before, it weakens.

The south is forecast to see heavy to very heavy rain from Monday through Friday due to the low pressure cell over the Bay of Bengal, which is intensifying into a tropical storm as it moves towards the middle of the bay.

Rough seas with waves of between 2-3 metres, and higher in stormy areas, are anticipated in the Andaman Sea. Fishermen and sailors are advised to exercise greater caution when navigating in the Andaman Sea, while small vessels are advised to stay ashore.

Fucking hot yesterday, 35c, here in Pattaya but Bkk hit 40c. At least here we get relief from sea breezes. I remember the hot spell in 2012 in Bkk when for a month temps at Swampy hit 40c most days, the only outdoor relief to be had was down by the river on the commuter boats up to Nonthaburi and back.

    N C Rai area

39 outside at midday about 41 forecast 3pm and refreshing rains in the week

Inside my entirely 20cm thick Superblock home about 26 may turn a fan on later

The "boos " likes to sleep in aircon so I shuffle iff to my office where a cool breeze or a fan suffice

I agree with others though exceptionally hot for Thailand, even the builders nearby are feeling it.

To be honest my max daytime exertion is to and from coffee machine or to the fridge !!!

I prefer the dry heat of the desert and have coped at 54 in KSA and over 50 in other places provided you live a nocturnal life and not in a rush.

For any newbies mozzies love stagnant water even a cup , old tire, garden bowl or platter so flip 'em all pre rains, aside from Tak very small malaria risk but dengue and off course the itch is always a risk esp for those who wear colorful clothes and cologne at dusk.

It is reassuring to know SA is cool his unique contribution is all part of our dwindling band.

Exactly the same here, 43 (unsurprisingly, as I am not that far west of you) and it feels like it is sucking the life force out of everything.
This early morning it was only 28 and the strong winds suggested rain was on its way. It never came. The village just 2km away had a splash, here we are still waiting.

    Yeah, quite a deluge.

The 40k spent on the roof last week was well timed.

At last. Early evening yesterday the sky went black and this time the rain did follow the wind. As an added bonus, we got through the thunder and lightning without a power cut.
It was a balmy 27C first thing this morning.
