Transgender influencer Aniwat Pratumtin, aka “Nara Crepe Katoey”, was taken into custody by consumer protection police today (Tuesday) on charges of public fraud and false advertising, in connection with the online sale of gift sets.

Police carried out searches at two locations in Ayutthaya today and found the suspect at one of the locations, which is the house of Aniwat’s boyfriend. Police seized four smart phones, one i-Pad and six bank account books.

In the other search of a shop-house, police seized numerous gift boxes.

Police allege that the influencer advertised the sale of gift sets online, promising that buyers would receive gifts worth the money. After some customers transferred money into Aniwat’s bank accounts for the gift sets, she failed to send the gift sets to them.

After the arrest, Aniwat was escorted by police to the Consumer Protection Police Division for further questioning.

The influencer created a controversy last year when one advertisement was deemed to be an insult to a member of the Thai Royal Family.
