    Irrespective of conduct, a government servant is entitled to their pension commensurate with time in harness.
    Certainly in the UK you can pretty much fall foul of the laws in the most grievous of manner but still retain pension rights. Essentially, you put in the time, you get the benefits.
    Guy Burgess who spied for the Russians and fled there to escape trial still received his Foreign Office pension.
    That this chickenhead went doolally shouldn’t bear on his widow’s receipt of his pension entitlement - he still worked as a copper for many years.
