We all know how the People will vote, again, and wonder what the 'powers that be' might do to stymie the peoples voice this time. Seems to me the momentum this time might be unstoppable, but maybe that is wishful thinking.

It did make me chuckle reading this, given that you are such an ardent fan of dictatorships elsewhere.

I was not an ardent fan of the Maidan revolution, or the various Thai military coups- in my observation, such things generally end in tears. A 'dictatorship', to you, is any government you are told not to like by MSM. Which means nothing, unless you are a citizen of the country in question.

The old tried and true method: stimulation that is repeated often and loud enough becomes real and true.
    Almost all fall for it.

Because I just don't think the society is ready for it mate. Thailand, unlike all of it's neighbors, has avoided some serious pitfalls. The royal family advised by the privy council and backed up by the military is a very good reason for this. Someone like Thaksin, a rookie/ charlatan, when it comes to running/ building/ nurturing a country for centuries, wants to create a police state like Singapore where he and his friends will reign supreme but with what long term consequence? Better to stick with what you know and what has proven to be successful for centuries.
One should listen twice as much as one speaks

Last poll had Pheu Thai winning by 70% so not wishful thinking at all. The other 6 parties didn't come close.

Prepare yourself Gent. You will be ruled by farmers, laborers, maids and the great unwashed.

    Temporarily.

Been witness to community independence, free will and self-sufficiency ruled over by way of social and familial extensions....with a touch of local political intervention.
What's this I hear about decades upon decades of military over lording and monarchical rule...??

First you do realize how much this has changed since we had a new king.

    Do you really believe that?

    Yes....no Commies.
    That was the clincher.

Yet, an entrenched Mafia-like plutocracy [practiced the world over] is quite acceptable.
