Generally speaking
Generally speaking you are a complete cock
Indonesia has scores of silly laws but like Thailand no matter cuz it's enforcement that matters innit? Like Thailand just another income opportunity for the local BiBs.
Anyone who has spent anytime in Surabaya where, in spite of the law, debauchery in all flavors abounds know this. Or so I've been told.
"Whenever you find yourself on the side of the majority, it is time to pause and reflect,"
They tried similar years ago. This diluted format relies on relatives to pursue prosecution.
Ideal blackmail opportunity for some Muslims?
Hindu Bali with many Aussies may not enforce but you can imagine how Hotels. Losmen, resorts, hostels, may be "pressured" by locals to check local wedding certs , cannot imagine they would be able to read one in Hebrew, Russian , Japanese etc
Great ops for corrupt cops to take tea money from brothels etc
The bigger picture the Islamic phallocrats wish to control sexuality in all its forms ,women and pleasure.
Never heard of the 'temporary Islamic marriage'. Anyway, even if it becomes law, there will be a 3 year period of legal acclimation before any prosecution is accepted. Still possible it could be reversed. It is aimed at giving hard line Muslims the chance to pursue legal means instead of public floggings etc. (Appeasement).
Err... No. I thought you were more traveled than that, Willy. How many gay men would walk arm in arm comfortably in a predominantly Muslim country compared to all other countries with predominating religions? What countries with an overwhelming religious majority disallows inter religious marriage apostasy or "blasphemy"? How many muslims can walk through St Peters and how many of other faiths can go to Mecca? In which religious countries would you be most unlikely to criticise the local religion? In what provinces in Thailand Indonesia or the Philippines would you be most likely to be in danger as a gay couple or an un married hetero couple or even a self professed atheist school teacher. Rather an ignorant uninformed statement. I will spare you the dreary bs flag.

Similar to the law they tried to introduce before. As a secular democracy, (officially) the Indonesian Gov would prefer radicals like in Aceh, to go down the legal route. Prevents them using Sharia punishments like public floggings and worse.
No idea if it will work or not, but it's not my country. I think it just tempts corruption.
You're not even safe in Switzerland...
Emirates ruler's brother guilty of assaulting man in bar | US news | The Guardian
Latest news is the Bali bomb maker involved in the bomb that killed 202 people mostly tourists including 88 Australians has been released from gaol for good behaviour after serving a little over half of a 20 year sentence. Aparently he is now a reformed man. This speaks volumes. Still, like lemmings, my fellow Aussies holiday there as if it cant happen again because the Balinese are such nice people. It's not the local Balinese they need to worry about. Maybe they should holiday in Aceh.
