Officials probe famous Thai singer’s land claim in Saraburi forest reserves

Officials at the Public Sector Anti-Corruption Commission (PACC) are investigating two plots of land inside the Thap Kwang-Muak Lek national forest reserve in Saraburi province, allegedly occupied by well-known song writer and singer Yuenyong Opakul, aka “Aed Carabao”.

Director of the PACC’s Region 1 Office, Thanawat Sanitsakdee, accompanied by political activist Veera Somkwamkid, led PACC officials to the forest reserve to probe Yuenyong’s ownership claim of two land plots, covering a total area of 5.6 hectares, to determine whether they encroach on the forest reserves.

Veera told the media that he received a complaint from villagers last month, claiming that they could not get into the forest reserves, to search for forest produce, because it was blocked by steel fencing, indicating that the land is privately owned.

He said he asked the PACC to investigate the two plots and whether the issuance of the “nor sor 3 kor” land certificate is legal, adding that he feels that the issuance of the certificate on March 6th, 1992, just one year after the issuance of the “nor sor 1” certificate was unusually fast.

Veera also noted that the original land certificate was for 2.56 hectares, but the amount of land has been increased to 5.6 hectares.

The officials also found evidence of rock blasting on the limestone mountain in the forest and a dirt road has been built leading to the two plots of lands.

Yuenyong was not available for comment.

    They simply can’t help themselves.

For an alleged Buddhist country they sure do have an awful lot of greedy, underhanded pigs.

Miserable? I am quite content but that does not mean I should blind myself to the iniquities of this ghastly society and its hypocrisy that cloaks the truth at every turn. I am merely expressing my abhorrence and as far as I am aware I do not require permission to do that on this board nor the approval of a pair of silly cvunts such as you two.

But my contempt for the human condition is not reserved for the Thai only, the world is a vale of tears in many instances but since I live in Thailand I naturally focus on its systemic injustice, stupidity, greed and nastiness.

One mustn’t spread oneself too thin, eh, you fucking mofos.

Singer Aed Carabao’s land does not encroach onto national forest reserve

Two plots of land in Thailand’s Saraburi Province, owned by famous singer Yuenyong Opakul, aka “Aed Carabao”, are not located in Thap Kwang-Muak Lek national forest reserves, according to the Forest Department.

Cheewapap Cheewatham, deputy director-general of Forest Department, said today (Thursday) that the department has checked the two parcels of land, covering an area of 5.6 hectares, by using satellite mapping and comparing it with the department’s maps. The result shows that the land in question is outside the forest reserves.

He said, however, that an iron gate, at the entrance to the two plots of land, was found to be within the boundary of the forest reserves, adding that the fence there is reported to have been erected by some Thais and foreigners, to prevent villagers from entering the forest.

Regarding the “nor sor 3 kor” land certificates for the two plots in question, Cheewapap said that it is the responsibility of the Land Department to find out whether they were legally issued and to whom.

Officials from the Public Sector Anti-Corruption Commission (PACC) and political activist Veera Somkwamkid had previously inspected the land in question and claimed that it encroached on the Tap Kwang-Muak Lek national forest reserve.

Cheewapap insists that satellite mapping can pinpoint the location of the two plots with a high degree of accuracy and is different from the application used by the PACC when checking the land demarcation.

The reporting in the second story is, typically for Thai unhampered by any ethic requiring the truth as an element of their conduct, manages to strike a somewhat ambiguous note that is as contradictory as it is plainly stupid. First they say the land is not within the forest reserves and then the alleged authority claims that fencing and gates giving access to the land is indeed within forest reserves.

Their egregious sliminess is truly serpent like.

    Awful people, awful,society.

There's a vacant position as Ombudsman in Thailand.

    You'd be perfect
