Foreigners allegedly steal mobile phones from guesthouse in Pattaya

A group of foreigners seemingly working together allegedly stole two mobile phones from a guesthouse in Pattaya.

Mrs. Siriwan Sangaroon, 43, a staffer of a guesthouse in Soi Pattaya Sai Song 9 in Nongprue, Banglamung filed a report to the Pattaya City Police last night (November 5th).

She told police that there were two foreigners possibly from the Middle East asking her to have a look at a room on the 3rd floor of her guest house yesterday. However, they did not book the room. They said the room was too small before they left.

She later found out that two mobile phones charging at the guest house reception counter worth 9,500 baht and 15,000 baht had disappeared.

She then checked CCTV footage at the guesthouse. One of the same foreigners had come to the guesthouse on Friday (November 4th) asking about the room but did not book.

Yesterday, November 5th, the man returned but with a friend. The two men went to look at the room and a third foreign man wearing a facemask, seemingly working with the others, immediately entered the guesthouse from outside while the staff was showing the room and searched at the counter before stealing the mobile phones.

Police are continuing their investigation to find the suspects for further legal action.

the thai police seem to have an exceptionally good record in quickly apprehending errant foreigners, especially those involved in petty crime against members of the indigenous population.

with the photographic and biometric data of every non thai in the kingdom on their computers, and with the determination and tenacity of the police and immigration rottweilers in hunting down every lawbreaking alien, no matter how minor the offence, add that to the glow of pride pride they get by parading them in front of the media it surely wont be too long before these dangerous foreign swarthies are identified, captured punished and eventually thrown out of the kingdom.

I had a friend telling me how they had adopted a Romanian family and were giving them money and clothes...my alarms immediately started to go off! I don't like to stereotype, but I had to at least give them a warning.

Three Egyptian suspects arrested by Pattaya police after allegedly stealing smartphones from guest house

Three Egyptian suspects who allegedly colluded to steal two smartphones from a Pattaya guest house were arrested by Pattaya police yesterday, November 6th.

Pattaya police chief Pol. Col. Kunlachart Kunlachai identified the three suspects as Egyptian nationals, including:

Mr. Yasser Zaki Mohamed Ismail, 41-years-old
Mr. Ali Elasayed Attia Hussein, 46-years-old
    Mr. Mamdouh Abouamer Badawy, 45-years-old

The three were arrested around 10.23 PM yesterday and were charged with a collaborative burglary at the Pattaya police station. CCTV footage showed the second and third suspects walking down Pattaya Second Road at 9.10 PM on November 5th. Additional footage inside the guest house showed the third suspect leaving the guest house after the alleged theft and taking a baht bus to escape.

The first and second suspects were also seen heading down Pattaya Second Road to Pattaya Central Road after leaving the guest house.

The first and third suspects were arrested in their rental room at the Panowla Residence in Soi 13/2 on Beach Road in the Nongprue subdistrict of Banglamung, Chonburi. They then led Pattaya police to the second suspect staying at the Lek hotel in Soi 12 on Pattaya Second Road.

The three reportedly denied the thet allegations but admitted they were the individuals seen in the CCTV footage.

Pattaya police are proceeding with prosecution as of press time.

So let me understand this, it made news that 3 people worked up a scheme to steal 2 Smartphones and have been arrested? That must have taken some serious plotting and planning to pull that off. Probably knock off Samsung S7's to boot.

^ not quite the crime of the century

    Seems a getaway driver wasn't a consideration

Additional footage inside the guest house showed the third suspect leaving the guest house after the alleged theft and taking a baht bus to escape.
