Intoxicated American tourist in Nakhon Si Thammarat reportedly drank Thai whisky for

An intoxicated American tourist in Nakhon Si Thammarat was reportedly drinking Thai whisky (Lao Kao) continuously for at least two days before causing a public nuisance.

The Khanom Police was notified of the incident yesterday afternoon (October 5th) at Baan Pa Lane in the Khanom district. They arrived at the scene to find the foreign man who was yelling incoherently in front of a local grocery. A car nearby was damaged as well and after an extended period of time and with the assistance of crowd control tools as seen in the photo above the man was finally caught and arrested by about a dozen police officers.

The Khanom Police told the Phuket Express that the man was identified only as Mr. Andigo, 45, an American national. He entered Thailand recently on a one month tourist visa.

A victim, Mr. Soonthorn Chumchoo, told The Phuket Express, “The tourist was walking around in the area for about two days. He was heavily intoxicated and seemed to be angry about something. He damaged everything he was walking past including my grocery store. He also used a rock to hit and damage a car nearby.”

Other witnesses told Khanom police they saw the tourist drink Thai whisky continuously for at least two days. Immigration officers were also reportedly contacted as law enforcement said they plan to pursue deporting the man.

When you're surrounded by many policemen, some wielding big stick things, that's a good time to STFU.

Another fine visitor to Thailand....With Covid controls relaxed, more will wash up. It was a nice break during the pandemic.

I wouldn't be surprised if a Thai person does something similar on a weekly basis, but when it is a foreigner it makes the news.

To be fair, the Thai news and social media report many cases but, yes, those don't make it into the English language news.

kudos to the thai police in this case for taking the obnoxious meathead down. a slap, a few kicks and some pokes with those poles and hes done and on the next plane home.

in the uk there would have been a 2 day standoff with the coalition of the woke in attendance i.e. counsellors, diversity consultants, human rights observers, interpreters, the bbc, medics and mental health "experts", before he was let off with a £5 fine, then rehoused and signed up for benefits at the taxpayers expense.

Your satire is misplaced. He would have been tasered quicker than it would take to say “ you northern twat “.

The man is clearly deranged and therefore a good fit for the Thai.

Those “ control” implements are quite ludicrous but then, it is Thailand after all.

the man is not deranged. he is simply intoxicated.

tasers are rarely used. any cop using one knows that they are lining themselves up for weeks of paperwork, interrogations, inquiries, the inevitable media storm and the very real chance of being sued and ultimately losing their job and pension. all at enormous cost to the taxpayer.

in thailand they knock an anti social miscreant to the ground, cuff him throw him into the back of a hilux and off to jail for a few weeks. no kid gloves, no fuss, job done.
cost to the taxpayer? 200b for some fish head soup.

In England and Wales the use of Conducted Energy Devices ( tasers) was recorded in 2021 on 34,000 occasions, 5000 of which involved an actual discharge. The mere threat of the weapon is generally sufficient to defuse a situation involving violent behaviour.

Even if a police officer is found to have discharged his device improperly resulting in dismissal, his pension will be protected until he reaches a qualifying age for receipt.

Tax, your hysteria seems to be getting a grip of you these days.

    s.a.

In England and Wales the use of Conducted Energy Devices ( tasers) was recorded in 2021 on 34,000 occasions.
out of a total of 560,000 occasions when some restraining force was used.
    so that's about 6%

and at a discharge rate of 5000 times out of 560,000 occasions of restraint, that equates to 0.9%, so as I said, tasers are rarely used.

and here's just one reason why,

If you or a loved one has been injured by a Taser, our specialist lawyers could help you claim compensation and get the answers you deserve. The physical and psychological effects of a Taser can be serious, including:

Heart attack (especially when there is a pre-existing heart condition)

    Breathing problems

    Emotional trauma

Our expert lawyers have extensive experience dealing with claims against the police and can help you get the resolution you need to move forwards.

Making a complaint against the police can be a daunting prospect – but we are here to help you through the process.

For more information on making a Taser gun claim, call 0800 028 1943 or fill out our online enquiry form.

given the police can't managed to attend or record burglaries, you hold any faith in those numbers

Yea, some sort of accent, not a seppo. The news anchors' vices are ever so cringeworthy and the dozen cops with their sticks and rods look like a comedy sketch.

    What a moron.
