Crazy people easy access to weapons and violent pornography , tragic the sort of thing that no longer surprises us in USA.
Such outrages have occurred at Port Arthur even relatively gun free New Zealand, seems very hard to prevent.
As the global infllation, recession, divorce, gambling debts rise I foresee a crimewave here which will be excellent news for those who wish return to stricter martial law.

I have a daughter in tears - saw pics on social media taken from ThaiRath online, poorly pixellated photos showing multiple children's bodies across a classroom floor.

    Extremely disturbing.

While they ThaiRath and other Thai media may choose to publish them, no need for them here, this is horrific.

I hope he is dead, no more

There are a lot of victims in a case like this. My pic was not pixellated, just bodies and a pool of blood. Goodness only knows why it was shared. Brought more than one tear to my eyes.

And now, also on ThaiRath, a police statement, excuse grammar it's been almost translated

Police spokesman - stop sharing pictures and clips of the victims "Shooting at Nong Bua Lamphu"

    6 Oct. 2022 3:08 PM.
Police Major General Achayon Kraithong, a spokesman for the Royal Thai Police, said the incident was a loss that no one wanted to happen.

First of all, I would like to express my condolences to all the bereaved families. including the injured and warn users of social networks, social, please refrain from sharing images, video clips, such incidents.

Please understand the feelings of the families affected by the incident.

This type of violence often triggers anger, sadness, fear and anxiety among local residents and the people who received the information, presenting or transmitting images of excessive violence is of no benefit to society as a whole. It also has a broad impact on mental health on society.

In addition, presenting or forwarding images of the injured or the death toll from the incident is also a violation of personal rights and can have a huge psychological impact on relatives and people around those who are affected

Therefore, ask the public to be encouraged by the work of the police officers. Help us use social media in a positive way or use it to support information that is useful to the work of the staff.

Be careful when using or following social media including refraining from sharing pictures of the dead and injured in violent incidents, taking care and giving advice to children and youth who have access to images of violence, take care and assess the mental state of themselves and those around them.

Given the proliferation of guns within all levels of Thai society, the appalling absence of a meaningful mental welfare support system, and the sense of entitlement culturally embedded within the Thai armed forces and the police, it is really quite remarkable there are only sporadic incidents such as this terrible slaughter of innocents.

A former policeman suspected of killing at least 34 people, including 22 children, at a childcare center in northeastern Thailand has taken his own life, according to the Central Investigation Bureau (CIB).

The man – who has been identified as a 34-year-old former police officer – also killed his wife and child, the CIB added. It is unclear if the shooter and his family are included in the current death toll.

Thirty-four people have been killed, including 22 children, in a mass shooting at a preschool centre in a north-eastern province of Thailand, police have said.

The attacker, a former policeman, also killed his wife and child before shooting himself dead.

About 30 children were at the centre when the gunman entered the building at 12.30pm (0530 GMT), during the children’s nap time, police and local officials said. The victims were as young as two years old.

Jidapa Boonsom, a district official, told Reuters that the attacker first shot four or five members of staff, including a teacher who was eight months pregnant. “At first people thought it was fireworks,” she added.

Videos posted on social media showed sheets covering what appeared to be the bodies of children lying in pools of blood at the centre in the town of Uthai Sawan in the north-eastern province of Nong Bua Lamphu.

Local police said the attacker was armed with a shotgun, a pistol and a knife, and that he fled the scene in a vehicle. The Daily News newspaper reported that after fleeing the attacker returned to his home and killed himself along with his wife and child.

Chakkraphat Wichitvaidya, superintendent of Na Klang police station, told Thai Rath TV that the gunman had been discharged from the police force last year.

The suspect had been involved in an ongoing court case for allegedly selling drugs, according to Maj. Gen. Jirapob Puridet of the CIB.
He had appeared in court in Nong Bua Lamphu hours before traveling to the nursery and “opening fire while the kids were sleeping,” Puridet said.
Puridet told CNN the former officer was dismissed from duty and “charged with selling narcotics” last year.
